The Maroon 5 concert that I'd been waiting for 5 years have come and gone recently. Of course I'm not going to skip writing an entry about it and I'm going to share all my memories with you :)
My friend and I went to Antalya 2 days in advance so that we could enjoy being in Antalya. We had the chance of trying out the beach near Tekirova, Konyaaltı beach and Lara beach. All of them were great but Konyaaltı was the one which pleased us the most and I don't know whether it was because of the fact that we went there on the day of the concert. Besides, the beaches were empty due to us being there in the beginning of the June. We felt like the beaches were private and it made us enjoy it more :)
On the first day we roamed around the centre of Antalya. Its clock tower is really famous and you can go anywhere from there. There is a tram line at the centre of the square and its name is Cumhuriyet. When you walk by it, you reach Kaleiçi and then the marina. There are lots of souvenir shops and the people invite you to their shops while you are walking down :) You can also enjoy the boat tours with an affordable price at the marina.
İkinci gün Düden Şelalesi'ni gezmek istedik. Öğrenciler 2 liraya girebiliyor. Yetişkinler için de fiyat 1-2 lira fark ediyor. Park içerisinde yer alan şelaleye mağaradan geçilip gidiliyor. İçeride eski mezarlar da var. Şelale çok büyük ve gerçekten görüntüsü muazzam.
On the second day we wanted to visit Duden Waterfalls. Students can visit for 2 Turkish liras and adults can visit for 1 or 2 Turkish liras more. To go near the waterfall which is located within the park, you need to go through a cave. There are also ancient tombs there. The waterfall is really big and the view is breathtaking.
Ve beklediğim gün, konser günü geldi. Expo'ya öğlen 3 civarı geçtik. Havaalanına çok yakın ancak şehir merkezine biraz uzak. Otobüsle gitmenizi tavsiye ederim çünkü Expo'nun servisi pahalı ve taksi de çok yazabilir. Expo çok geniş bir yer olmuş ve her ülkeye, şehre ait izler bulmanız mümkün. O kadar büyük ki 3 saat gezmemize rağmen bitiremedik. En beğendiğimiz yer ortaya kurdukları Torku adası ve 18 katlı Turkcell kule oldu. Torku adası çocuklara yönelik olsa da dışarıdan görsel olarak çok hoş duruyor. Turkcell kuleye giriş ücreti 5 lira ve en tepeye geldiğinizde bütün Expo ayaklarınızın altında oluyor.
And the day I was waiting for, the day of the concert arrived. We went to Expo at around 3 p.m. It is close to the airport but far from the city centre. I advise you to take the bus to get there because Expo's shuttle is expensive and taxis might cost a lot as well. Expo is really big and it's possible to find traces of each country and city. It was so big that we couldn't finish our tour there although we spared 3 hours for this. The places we liked the most was Torku island and Turkcell tower. Even though the Torku island is for the kids, it looks good from the outside. The admission fee to the tower is 5 Turkish liras and the whole Expo is at your feet when you reach to the top.
O zaman şimdi konserden bahsedebilirim :) Tekrar söylüyorum, 5 yıldır bu anı bekliyordum. Bazı sanatçıları ya da grupları kesinlikle her yıl bir kere görmem gerekiyormuş gibi hissediyorum ve Maroon 5 da bunlardan biri. Adam Levine'i artık ailemden biri olarak gördüğüm için çok heyecanlıydım. Çok sıra beklemeden en önde yerimi aldım. Saat 8'de kapılar açıldı ve saat 10'da hiç bekletmeden Maroon 5 sahneye çıktı. Bir süre olayın gerçek olduğuna inanamadım ve fotoğraf çekemedim. Sağ olsun arkadaşım benim yerime tüm konseri kaydetti. Uzun süredir hiçbir konserde şarkıları baştan sona eşlik ederek söylememiştim. Bir buçuk saat nasıl geçti anlamadım. Herkes bu şekildeydi ve alanı bir süre boşaltamadık çünkü hala inanamıyorduk :) 2011'deki konserde seyirciler şarkıların çoğunu bilmiyordu çünkü Hands All Over albümü yeni çıkmıştı ancak şu an gelen kitle hepsine vakıf insanlardı dolayısıyla çok eğlenceli geçti. Yine gel Maroon 5!
So I can talk about the concert now :) I'm saying this again, I'd been waiting for that moment for 5 years. I feel like I need to see some singers and bands live at least once in a year and Maroon 5 is one of those. I was really excited since I felt like Adam Levine was one of my relatives. I got to the front row without waiting in the line for long. The doors were open at 8 p.m. and Maroon 5 hit the stage at 10 p.m. without making us wait much longer. I couldn't believe that it was real and I couldn't take pictures at first. Thanks to my friend, he recorded the whole show for me. It's been a while since I sang along the whole setlist at a concert. I didn't realize how an hour and a half passed. Everyone was like me and we couldn't go outside of the area because we were still in shock :) The audience in the 2011 concert did not know the songs because the Hands All Over album was recently out but the audience now knew all the songs by heart which made us enjoy the concert even more. Come and perform in Turkey again Maroon 5!
