Imany konserinin üstünden biraz vakit geçti farkındayım ancak gelişigüzel hazırlanmış bir yazı olsun istemedim o yüzden şu an Volkswagen Arena’daki konserinden detaylıca bahsedeceğim.

I know that it’s been awhile since Imany concert took place but I didn’t want my post to be haphazardly written, so now I’ll be talking about her concert at Volkswagen Arena in details.

Imany, gerçek adı Nadia Mladjao, İstanbul’a 2016’da yine gelmişti ve oradaydım ben de. Hem dışı hem içi inanılmaz güzel bir kadın. İnandığı şeylerin arkasında duruyor ve herkese de aynı şeyi yapmasını söylüyor. Şarkı aralarında defalarca bizimle konuştu ve her seferinde ilham verici şeyler söyledi.

Imany, real name being Nadia Mladjao, came to Istanbul in 2016 and I was there as well. She is an amazing woman inside and out. She stands up for what she believes in and she tells everyone to do the same. She talked to us many times between songs and every time she said something inspirational. 

Müziğiyle çok geniş kitlelere hitap edebileceğini biliyor ve şarkı söylemesinin sebebi güzel sesi olması ya da güzel şarkıları olması değil, anlatacak ve ilham verecek bir hikayesinin olması, insanlara farklı olmanın sorun olmadığını söyleyebilmesi ve onları hayallerinin peşinden gitmesi için cesaretlendirmesi. Buraya kadar Imany’nin en sevdiğim şarkıcılardan biri olduğunu anlamış olmanız lazım.

She knows that through her music, she can reach to a wider audience and the reason why she sings is not because she has a good voice or great songs. It is because she has a story to tell to inspire many people, to tell them that it is okay to be different and to encourage them to go after their dreams. That being said, you can already tell that she is one of my favourite singers. 

O gece Volkswagen Arena’da Imany’nin diyeceklerini dinlemek için gelen pek çok insan vardı. Bizi hiç bekletmeden sahneye çıktı ve performansı her zamanki gibi harikaydı. Dans etmeyi asla bırakmadı ve meşhur saç bandını bile çıkarıp attı kendini ana kaptırınca :)

There were many people in Volkswagen Arena that night to hear what she had to tell. She came to the stage without making us wait any longer and her performance was amazing as always. She never stopped dancing and she even took off her famous headband when she got caught up in the moment :) 

Hem başında hem de sonunda İstanbul’u ne kadar sevdiğini vurguladı ve turu başladığından beri İstanbul’a gelmeye çalıştığını ancak sonunda anca başarabildiğini söyledi. Bu konuyla alakalı hiçbir şikayetim yok çünkü pek çok sanatçı ya iptal ediyorlar ya da içlerinde buraya gelmek için en ufak bir istek bile yok.

Both at the beginning and in the end, she emphasized how much she loved Istanbul and told that she tried to come here many times since the start of her tour but she could only manage to do so near the end of her tour. I do not have any complaints about it since many artists either cancel their plans to come around here or they do not even have the slightest urge to add our country into their tour list.

Keşke bu şekilde daha çok sanatçı ülkemize gelse ve konserlerin bizim için ne kadar cesaret verici ve ilham verici olduğunu görseler.

I wish more artists like her could come to Turkey so that everyone would see how encouraging and inspiring such concerts are for us.

Jake Bugg Konseri (11.05.2018) @ Babylon

Bugün uzun zamandır canlı dinlemek istediğim ve 11 Mayıs'ta dinleme fırsatını elde ettiğim Jake Bugg'tan bahsedeceğim. Beklentilerimin üstündeydi her şey.

Today I will talk about Jake Bugg whom I've been waiting to listen to live on stage and got the chance to do it on the 11th of May. He exceeded all expectations.

Öncelikle Jake Bugg konser duyurusunu görünce çok heyecanlanmıştım çünkü yaklaşık 4 yıldır beklediğim bir şeydi bu. İngiltere'de yaşadığım dönem onu görmeyi çok istemiştim -çünkü kendisi İngiliz- ancak o sırada konseri yoktu. Şimdi ise Babylon sayesinde ayağıma kadar geldi ve 11 Mayıs için gün saymaya başladım. Kendisi ayrıca 12 Mayıs'ta da performans gerçekleştirdi ve sosyal medyalarda gördüğüm kadarıyla o gün de inanılmazmış.

First of all, I got quite excited when I saw the announcement of Jake Bugg's concert because it was something that I'd been waiting for almost 4 years. I wanted to see him during the time I was in UK -because he is British- but he was out of town. Now he came to Babylon and I started counting down the days. He also had another performance on the 12th of May and as far as I could observe, he was amazing on that day as well.

Bazı aksaklıklar sonucu konsere 10 dakika kala içeri girebildim ve ona rağmen çok dolmamıştı o açıdan mutluydum. Hemen en öne geçtim tabii ki. Sonrasında bayağı kalabalıklaştığını söylemeliyim ama. Muhtemelen iş/okul sebebiyle insanlar geç gelebildi. Zaten 12 Mayıs biletleri bu sebeple tükenmiş olmalı. Çok bekletmeden sahneye çıktı Jake Bugg. Yaşından büyük bir sesi olduğunda hemfikiriz bence. Her şarkı bitiminde bize teşekkür etti, istek parça aldı ve bizimle iletişimi hiç kesmedi. Hareketleri de yaşına göre olgundu bu açıdan. Günümüz genç sanatçılarına adeta örnek olabilecek birisi. 

Due to some mishaps, I entered the venue ten minutes before the show but it was not that crowded by then and I was happy about it. I made it to the front row of course. Then there were a lot of people though. They came late probably because they were at work/school. Maybe that was the reason why saturday tickets were sold out. He came to stage without making us wait for him any longer. I believe we all agree that his voice sounds older than him. He thanked us at the end of each song, he played some songs by request and he never stopped his link with us. He was pretty much mature despite his age. He might set an example for the young artists of our generation.

He sang all of the songs I love. Broken Love, Hope And Misery and Two Fingers are my favourites. If you haven't listened to them, I suggest you begin playing them in the background while reading the rest of the post. I guarantee that you won't regret it.

Babylon'da en sevdiğim şey yer bakımından sanatçıyla iç içe olmanız. Bu konser çıkışında kulise girme imkanım da oldu. 

The thing that I like the most about Babylon is that you are close to the artist in terms of the atmosphere. I even had the chance to go to backstage and meet him in person. 

Gelmeyenlerin çok şey kaçırdığını söylemek istiyorum. Bir daha ne zaman buralara gelir bilmiyorum ama kesinlikle defalarca dinlenebilecek birisi.

I should say that people who did not come, missed out a lot. I do not know when he will come back but you can listen to him many times.

Hollanda Seyahati (Eindhoven - Amsterdam Vacation) 2018

Bir akrabamın düğünü sebebiyle Hollanda'ya 4 gün 3 gecelik bir seyahatte bulundum. Daha önce Amsterdam'a gitmiştim ancak Eindhoven'a hiç gitmemiştim o yüzden benim için de güzel bir fırsat oldu. Dönerken de uzun zamandır göremediğim Amsterdam'da yüksek lisans yapan arkadaşıma da uğradım, o da çok iyi geldi :)

I went to Netherlands for 4 days 3 nights to attend one of my relative's wedding. I've been to Amsterdam before but I'd never seen Eindhoven so it was a great opportunity for me. Before coming back to Istanbul, I had the chance to see one of my friends who is doing a master's. It was really great :)

İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen'den sabah uçuşumu gerçekleştirdim. Amsterdam Schiphol Havaalanı'na indim. Oradan trenle Eindhoven'a yaklaşık bir buçuk saat süren bir yolculuk yaptım. Tren biletini kredi kartınızla orada bulunan sarı makinelerden de alabilirsiniz ya da nakit ödemek istiyorsanız veznelere gidip oradan da bilet alabiliyorsunuz. Ücret olarak 20 euro tuttu yolculuğum. Otobüsle gitmek muhtemelen daha ucuz olurdu ancak kısa süreliğine gidiyorum ve başka harcamam olmayacak diye o kadar önemsemedim. Siz uzun süre seyahat edecekseniz daha ucuz bir yol olarak otobüsü tercih etmenizi önerebilirim.

My plane took off from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen in the morning. It landed on Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. I took a train to Eindhoven which took about one and a half hours. You can either get your train ticket via yellow ticket machines with a credit card or if you want to pay cash, you can go to the desks there. I paid 20 euros for the ticket. It probably would have been less expensive if I'd chosen a bus but I didn't care about it since my stay would be short and I wouldn't pay for anything else. If you will be traveling for a while, I suggest you take a bus.

Sycamore isimli bir butik otelde kaldım. Ortalama olarak diğer yerlere göre pahalı ama dediğim gibi kısa süreli kalıyorum diye çok araştırma yapmadan seçtim. Üç katlı, yeşillik içinde çok güzel bir yerdi. Tren istasyonundan yürüyerek 8-10 dakika sürüyor yol. Taksiye binerseniz de 5-6 euro tutuyor. Şehir merkezinden biraz uzakta kaldığı için sıfır gürültü var diyebilirim. Tamamen huzur dolacağınız bir yer. Oranın sahibi de çok tatlı bir adam. Karısıyla beraber orada yaşıyorlar. Daha önce defalarca Türkiye'ye ziyarete gelmiş, çok seviyormuş buraları. Çok da yardımsever birisi. Odayla ilgili sorduğum her şeye hemen cevap vermişti, orada da bana hep yardımcı oldu.

I stayed at a boutique hotel named Sycamore. It is relatively expensive compared to others but as I said above, I picked it out without doing a further research since I would be there for a short time. It was a three-storey house surrounded by greenery. It takes about 8-10 minutes to walk there from the main station. If you take a taxi, it costs around 5-6 euros. Since it is a bit far from the city centre, I can say that there is zero noise. It is a peaceful place. The owner is also helpful and sweet. He lives there with his wife. He's been to Turkey many times and likes being here. I'd sent him messages before and he responded quickly many times, and he helped me a lot when I arrived as well.

Gittiğim gün hemen şehir merkezini gezmeye başladım. Zaten küçük bir yer olduğu için etrafı gezmek maksimum 4-5 saatinizi alıyor. Müzeleri ama tek tek gezmek isterseniz iki gün daha gerekebilir. Hafta sonu gittiğim için müzeler erken kapanıyordu ve gezmek için pek fırsatım olmamıştı. PSV Stadyumu, Yellow Pins, Sint-Catharinakerk, De Blob ve Frits Philips anıtı görebileceğiniz yerlerden. Onun dışında müze olarak DAF müzesi, PSV müzesi, Philips müzesi en bilinen müzelerden. Düğüne gittiğimiz yerin adı Kasteel Henkenshage olarak geçiyor. Orası ziyarete açık mı bilmiyorum ama açıksa mutlaka uğrayın, masalsı bir yer çünkü.

I began wandering around the city as soon as I went there. Since it is a small city, it only takes about 4-5 hours to completely see everything. If you would like to visit the museums, you might need a couple of more days though. I was there during the weekend, so I didn't have the chance to see them. PSV Stadium, Yellow Pins, Sint-Catharinakerk, De Blob and the statue of Frits Philips are the things you should see. Other than that, DAF museum, PSV museum, Philips museum are the most known museums. The place I went for the wedding is called Kasteel Henkenshage. I don't know whether you can see it except for the events, but if you can do so, please visit because it is like one of the places in the fairytales.

Ertesi gün yine trenle Amsterdam'a geçtim. Arkadaşım Amstel durağına yakın güzel bir evde kalıyordu. Ben Pluk'u çok merak ediyordum, Instagram'da en sık gördüğüm yerlerden biriydi. Önce oraya gittik sonra da etrafı gezip Pllek denen bir yere feribotla gittik. Bu arada feribotlar ücretsizmiş, böyle şeyler öğrendikçe gerçekten yurt dışına yerleşme isteğim daha da artıyor. Ertesi gün de Chocomel denen bir şey içtim. Nesquik'e benziyor ama daha kıvamlı ve lezzetli. Arkadaşım bunu içmeden dönemezsin dedi, siz de gidince için derim :)

The next day I went to Amsterdam by train. My friend is staying in a house near Amstel station. I was wondering about Pluk because it was one of the places I saw on Instagram mostly. We first went there and I had a unicorn bowl -which is the most famous dish. Then we went to a place called Pllek by a ferry. By the way, the ferries are free and when I hear such stuff, I want to settle down in foreign places more and more. The following day I had a drink called Chocomel which is like Nesquik but my friend said that I shouldn't leave Amsterdam before drinking this, so maybe you should give it a shot as well :)

Benim kısa seyahatim böyleydi. Arada bu kadar kısa kaçamaklar yapmak bile kendimi yenilemeye yetiyor. Umarım en yakın sürede tekrar giderim.

That's how my short trip was. It feels good to have such short escapes. I hope I travel soon.
