Hollanda Seyahati (Eindhoven - Amsterdam Vacation) 2018

Hi everyone :)

Bir akrabamın düğünü sebebiyle Hollanda'ya 4 gün 3 gecelik bir seyahatte bulundum. Daha önce Amsterdam'a gitmiştim ancak Eindhoven'a hiç gitmemiştim o yüzden benim için de güzel bir fırsat oldu. Dönerken de uzun zamandır göremediğim Amsterdam'da yüksek lisans yapan arkadaşıma da uğradım, o da çok iyi geldi :)

I went to Netherlands for 4 days 3 nights to attend one of my relative's wedding. I've been to Amsterdam before but I'd never seen Eindhoven so it was a great opportunity for me. Before coming back to Istanbul, I had the chance to see one of my friends who is doing a master's. It was really great :)

İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen'den sabah uçuşumu gerçekleştirdim. Amsterdam Schiphol Havaalanı'na indim. Oradan trenle Eindhoven'a yaklaşık bir buçuk saat süren bir yolculuk yaptım. Tren biletini kredi kartınızla orada bulunan sarı makinelerden de alabilirsiniz ya da nakit ödemek istiyorsanız veznelere gidip oradan da bilet alabiliyorsunuz. Ücret olarak 20 euro tuttu yolculuğum. Otobüsle gitmek muhtemelen daha ucuz olurdu ancak kısa süreliğine gidiyorum ve başka harcamam olmayacak diye o kadar önemsemedim. Siz uzun süre seyahat edecekseniz daha ucuz bir yol olarak otobüsü tercih etmenizi önerebilirim.

My plane took off from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen in the morning. It landed on Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. I took a train to Eindhoven which took about one and a half hours. You can either get your train ticket via yellow ticket machines with a credit card or if you want to pay cash, you can go to the desks there. I paid 20 euros for the ticket. It probably would have been less expensive if I'd chosen a bus but I didn't care about it since my stay would be short and I wouldn't pay for anything else. If you will be traveling for a while, I suggest you take a bus.

Sycamore isimli bir butik otelde kaldım. Ortalama olarak diğer yerlere göre pahalı ama dediğim gibi kısa süreli kalıyorum diye çok araştırma yapmadan seçtim. Üç katlı, yeşillik içinde çok güzel bir yerdi. Tren istasyonundan yürüyerek 8-10 dakika sürüyor yol. Taksiye binerseniz de 5-6 euro tutuyor. Şehir merkezinden biraz uzakta kaldığı için sıfır gürültü var diyebilirim. Tamamen huzur dolacağınız bir yer. Oranın sahibi de çok tatlı bir adam. Karısıyla beraber orada yaşıyorlar. Daha önce defalarca Türkiye'ye ziyarete gelmiş, çok seviyormuş buraları. Çok da yardımsever birisi. Odayla ilgili sorduğum her şeye hemen cevap vermişti, orada da bana hep yardımcı oldu.

I stayed at a boutique hotel named Sycamore. It is relatively expensive compared to others but as I said above, I picked it out without doing a further research since I would be there for a short time. It was a three-storey house surrounded by greenery. It takes about 8-10 minutes to walk there from the main station. If you take a taxi, it costs around 5-6 euros. Since it is a bit far from the city centre, I can say that there is zero noise. It is a peaceful place. The owner is also helpful and sweet. He lives there with his wife. He's been to Turkey many times and likes being here. I'd sent him messages before and he responded quickly many times, and he helped me a lot when I arrived as well.

Gittiğim gün hemen şehir merkezini gezmeye başladım. Zaten küçük bir yer olduğu için etrafı gezmek maksimum 4-5 saatinizi alıyor. Müzeleri ama tek tek gezmek isterseniz iki gün daha gerekebilir. Hafta sonu gittiğim için müzeler erken kapanıyordu ve gezmek için pek fırsatım olmamıştı. PSV Stadyumu, Yellow Pins, Sint-Catharinakerk, De Blob ve Frits Philips anıtı görebileceğiniz yerlerden. Onun dışında müze olarak DAF müzesi, PSV müzesi, Philips müzesi en bilinen müzelerden. Düğüne gittiğimiz yerin adı Kasteel Henkenshage olarak geçiyor. Orası ziyarete açık mı bilmiyorum ama açıksa mutlaka uğrayın, masalsı bir yer çünkü.

I began wandering around the city as soon as I went there. Since it is a small city, it only takes about 4-5 hours to completely see everything. If you would like to visit the museums, you might need a couple of more days though. I was there during the weekend, so I didn't have the chance to see them. PSV Stadium, Yellow Pins, Sint-Catharinakerk, De Blob and the statue of Frits Philips are the things you should see. Other than that, DAF museum, PSV museum, Philips museum are the most known museums. The place I went for the wedding is called Kasteel Henkenshage. I don't know whether you can see it except for the events, but if you can do so, please visit because it is like one of the places in the fairytales.

Ertesi gün yine trenle Amsterdam'a geçtim. Arkadaşım Amstel durağına yakın güzel bir evde kalıyordu. Ben Pluk'u çok merak ediyordum, Instagram'da en sık gördüğüm yerlerden biriydi. Önce oraya gittik sonra da etrafı gezip Pllek denen bir yere feribotla gittik. Bu arada feribotlar ücretsizmiş, böyle şeyler öğrendikçe gerçekten yurt dışına yerleşme isteğim daha da artıyor. Ertesi gün de Chocomel denen bir şey içtim. Nesquik'e benziyor ama daha kıvamlı ve lezzetli. Arkadaşım bunu içmeden dönemezsin dedi, siz de gidince için derim :)

The next day I went to Amsterdam by train. My friend is staying in a house near Amstel station. I was wondering about Pluk because it was one of the places I saw on Instagram mostly. We first went there and I had a unicorn bowl -which is the most famous dish. Then we went to a place called Pllek by a ferry. By the way, the ferries are free and when I hear such stuff, I want to settle down in foreign places more and more. The following day I had a drink called Chocomel which is like Nesquik but my friend said that I shouldn't leave Amsterdam before drinking this, so maybe you should give it a shot as well :)

Benim kısa seyahatim böyleydi. Arada bu kadar kısa kaçamaklar yapmak bile kendimi yenilemeye yetiyor. Umarım en yakın sürede tekrar giderim.

That's how my short trip was. It feels good to have such short escapes. I hope I travel soon.

Amsterdam Seyahati (Amsterdam Vacation)

     Hi!

     4 gün 3 gece şeklinde gittiğim Amsterdam sevdiğim bir yer oldu ama herkesin bayıla bayıla anlattığı kadar etkilenmedim açıkçası. Tekrar Avrupa seyahatine çıksam tercih edeceğim bir yer değil ama hiç gitmem de diyemiyorum. Garip bir etkileşimim oldu sizin anlayacağınız :)

     I liked Amsterdam and I stayed there for 4 days and 3 nights but I wasn't as impressed as everyone else talked about. If I traveled in Europe again, I wouldn't choose to go there but I can't say that I'll never come round. We had a strange interaction as you see :)

     Amsterdam Scihphol Havalimanı'na iniş yaptık arkadaşım Duru ile. Ben İstanbul'dan geldim o da Roma'dan geldi. Havalimanında bilet makinelerinden merkeze giden trene bilet alabiliyorsunuz 5 küsür euro'ya ve yarım saat içinde merkezde oluyorsunuz. Aivengo Hostel'de kaldık ve orası oldukça merkezi. Ana tren istasyonuna yakın. Fakat günler öncesinden bakmamıza rağmen yine de pahalıydı orada konaklamak. Size tavsiyem merkezden biraz uzak yerlere bakın ya da aylar öncesinden konaklamayı halledin çünkü Amsterdam konaklamak için çok pahalı bir yer.

     We landed on Amsterdam Airport Schiphol with my friend Duru. She came from Rome and I came from Istanbul. You can get tickets for the trains that go to the city centre for just about 5 euros and you arrive to the centre in half an hour. We stayed at Aivengo Hostel and it is quite central. It is close to the main train station. However, even though we booked days before, it was expensive to find a place to stay. I would recommend that you book somewhere a bit far from the centre or deal with it months before because Amsterdam is a pricey city to accommodate.

     İlk gün kanallardan geçerken olabildiğince fotoğraf çekildik çünkü her yer kanal ve çok güzel bir görüntü sağlıyorlar. Sonra biraz piknik alışverişi yapıp Vondelpark'a gittik. Şansımıza hava da çok güzeldi. Vondelpark'ı aşırı sevdim. Hem çok büyük bir park hem de içinde küçük gölleri olan parkları çok seviyorum.

     On the first day, we took as many photos as we could because the city consists of many canals and they create a great scenery. Then we went for shopping to get ourselves food for the picnic and went to the Vondelpark. The weather was very nice fortunately. I loved it there. It is quite big and I like the parks with small lakes.

     İkinci gün müzelere gidelim dedik. İlk gün de uğramıştık ancak ikinci gün de "I Amsterdam" yazısının olduğu yere gittik. Bir sürü fotoğraflar çekilip müzelere geçtik. Van Gogh müzesi ile başlamak istiyorduk ancak yanlışlıkla Stedelijk müzesine girdik :) Girmişken orayı da gezdik. Sonrasında Van Gogh'a girdik. Hem başka yerden getirilen üç katlı bir sergiyi gezdik hem de Van Gogh'un kendi eserlerini gördük. Hepsi çok etkileyiciydi. Heineken Experience'a da girdik ve gerçekten harika bir deneyim yaşattılar. 18 euro gibi bir ücret ödüyorsunuz ama paranızın karşılığını kat kat aldığınız bir gerçek. Sonrasında Madame Tussauds'ya girdik. Akşama doğru girdiğimiz için oldukça boştu. Daha da eğlenceli geçti. Anne Frank müzesine de girmek istiyorduk ancak biraz uzak kaldığı için ertesi güne erteledik. Akşam yemeğimizi Toro Dorado diye bir yerde yedik ve günü noktaladık.

     On the second day we wanted to visit museums. We went by on the first day as well but we went to the "I Amsterdam" sign for the second time anyway. We took many photos and hit the road for the museums. We wanted to begin with the Van Gogh museum but by mistake we found ourselves at the Stedelijk museum :) Then we went to the Van Gogh museum where we had the chance to see a three storey exhibition and saw the original pieces by Van Gogh. They were all amazing. Later we went to the Heineken Experience and it was quite a good experience. You pay 18 euros but it is really worth it. Then we went to the Madame Tussauds wax museum and it was empty since we went there in the evening. We wanted to visit the Anne Frank museum as well but it was far so we left it for the next day. We had our dinner at Toro Dorado and called it a day.

     Üçüncü gün Anne Frank müzesine gittiğimizde gördük ki yürümesi bir buçuk dakika alan uzun bir kuyruk vardı. İnternetten bilet almak daha mantıklı bir çözüm olacağı için bir sonraki gidişimizde internetten bilet alıp öyle gitmeye karar verdik. Zaanse Schans isimli yel değirmenlerinin olduğu ve peynirlerinin meşhur olduğu bir kasabaya geçtik. Trenle yaklaşık 7 euro tutan bu yere 55 euroya turlar düzenleniyor. Onlara dahil olmadan kendiniz de bilet alıp rahatlıkla gidebilirsiniz. Orada Julianaburg adını verdikleri açılıp kapanan köprülerini de gördük. Tower Bridge'ten sonra böyle gördüğüm ikinci köprü :) Sonra Catharina Hoeve isimli peynir fabrikasına gidip yaklaşık bir kilo peynir aldık çünkü muhteşemlerdi. Biz avokado yemeyi de çok sevdiğimiz için Amsterdam'a dönünce The Avocado Show isimli restorana gitmeye karar verdik. Bu arada hem bu restoranda hem de bazı yerlerde gördük ki nakit kabul etmiyorlar. "Nakit yok hırsızlık yok" sloganlarıyla ilgimizi çektiler doğrusu. Sonrasında da alışveriş yerlerinin olduğu bir sokağı keşfettik. Primark, Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, River Island gibi sevdiğimiz bir sürü marka mevcuttu. Ancak aklınızda bulunsun çoğu yer 18:00 gibi kapanıyor. Alışveriş için bir gün ayırıp erken gitmekte fayda var.

     On the third day when we went to the Anne Frank museum, we saw that to get to the end of the queue you had to walk for one and a half minutes. It made more sense to buy tickets online, so we will visit it the next time we come. We went to a small village called Zaanse Schans which is full of windmills and famous for its various types of cheese. There are tours costing around 55 euros but we had our return tickets for only 7 euros, so you can go there on your own too. There we saw a bridge called Julianaburg which is like Tower Bridge since it opens and closes for cruise.  Then we went to the Catharina Hoeve cheese factory and bought cheese weighing 1 kg because they were delicious. We also love avocados and decided to have lunch at The Avocado Show. By the way, we saw both at this place and some others that they do not accept cash. "No cash no burglars" policy seems quite famous. We then discovered a street full of places to shop such as Primark, Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, River Island. Keep this in mind, many places close at about 6 pm. It would be wiser to spare a whole day for shopping and go there early.

     Ve dördüncü gün yani son gün geldiğinde içimizde ufak bir hüzünle havalimanına gittik. İkimizin de hisleri aşağı yukarı aynı oldu. Evet sevdik ancak tekrar gelmek için de gün sayacağımız bir yer olmadı. Umarız siz seversiniz :)

     And on the fourth day, we went to the airport with a little bit of sadness. We liked it there but we do not think we would choose to go there when we had the chance to travel in Europe. Hope you like it :)

     NOTLAR / NOTES

•  Her yerde bisiklet var. Arabadan çok bisiklet mevcut. Bisiklet zili duymaktan gına geldi. Araba kornasını özler olduk.
• There are bikes everywhere and they are more than cars. We had enough of hearing bike horns and we missed the car horns.
  
• Yemekler de pahalı geldi bize sadece konaklama değil. Giderken az parayla gitmeyin bence.
• Not only the accomodation but also the food is quite expensive. Make sure that you travel with enough cash.
  
• Peynir mutlaka yemelisiniz. Bir sürü peynir çeşidi var.
• You should definitely eat cheese. There are many types of them.
  
• Biz hiç toplu taşıma kullanmadan her yere yürüdük ama tramvay, metro ve otobüs kullanabilirsiniz. Bisiklet de kiralayabilirsiniz.
• We walked everyhwere on foot without using public transportation but you can use the tram, subway and the buses. You can also hire bikes.
