Hello everyone!
Yazımı kaydedip göndermediğim için taaa ağustos ayında 2017'de gerçekleşen festivali şu an yayınlayabiliyorum, kusura bakmayın :) İnsan bazen koşturmaca içinde unutabiliyormuş demek.
Since I saved and did not send the post, I can only publish this festival that happened back then in August, 2017. I'm so sorry about that. Sometimes we might forget the things we are supposed to do in the rush.
Bu festival beni bir hafta öncesinde olan V Festival'dan daha da çok heyecanlandırmıştı. O yazıma
buradan ulaşabilirsiniz. Daha çok heyecanlanma sebebim ise kesinlikle Eminem'i görecek olmamdı. Onu ne kadar sevdiğimi ve şarkılarını tek tek ezberlediğimi beni tanıyanlar bilir. Ayrıca Muse için de çok heyecanlıydım çünkü geçen yaz İstanbul'a konsere gelecekti ama diğer sanatçılar gibi o da iptal etmişti. Bu üzücü gerçeğe daha fazla dayanamayıp ben de bu festival dahilinde onu görmeye karar verdim. Çok da iyi bir karar vermişim zira muhteşemdi.
This festival got me more hyped than the V Festival that took place a week before. You can read my post about it here. The reason why I was more excited was because I was about to see Eminem! The people who know me knows how much I love him and how I know every word in his songs by heart. I was also excited for Muse because they were to come to Istanbul for a concert but then -like other artists- they decided to cancel it. I couldn't handle the truth anymore so I went to this festival to see them live. I made the right decision because they were awesome.
Festivale gelirsek V Festival'dan daha kapsamlı bir festival bu. Gerek sanatçılar gerekse olduğu yer daha büyüktü. Reading'e trenle geldikten sonra servislerle konser alanına gelebiliyorsunuz. Çadırlı konaklama ile konserin deneyimini tam anlamıyla yaşabilirsiniz ya da Reading merkezde kalıp yine otobüs ve servisle festival alanına gelebilirsiniz. Bu festival eş zamanlı olarak hem Reading'de hem de Leeds'de gerçekleşiyor. Hangi şehirde gitmek istediğinizi siz seçip ona göre bilet alabilirsiniz. Festivalde sahne alan isimler için aşağıya posteri bırakıyorum.
This is much more extensive than V Festival. Both the artists and the area were bigger. You can reach the festival by shuttles after arriving to Reading via train. You can experience the festival thoroughly if you prefer to camp or you can stay in Reading and come every day via buses or shuttles. This festival simultaneously takes place in Leeds as well. You can get the tickets according to your choice. I leave the poster down below so that you can see the artists who were there.
İlk gün için heyecanlı olduğum isimler Kasabian, Two Door Cinema Club ve Jimmy Eat World olmuştu. Daha sonra da Oh Wonder ve Anne Marie'yi merak ediyordum. Dolayısıyla sahneler arasında koşmam gerekecekti ancak en önden izleme çabam o gün için yoktu. O yüzden rahat rahat konum değiştirdim.
The names I was excited for the first day was Kasabian, Two Door Cinema Club and Jimmy Eat World. Then I was wondering about Oh Wonder and Anne Marie. Therefore, I had to run from one stage to another but I did not want to be in the front row that day so I easily changed my location.
Yalnız şunu söylemem gerekiyor ki hava aşırı sıcaktı ve soğuk sudan milkshake'e kadar ne bulduysam gün boyunca tükettiğim tek şey soğuk sıvılar olmuştu. Yemek seçenekleri de oldukça boldu. Vejetaryen olanlar için de seçenek çoktu, et ve tavuk tüketenler için de. Sağlıklı şeyler de seçebiliyorsunuz ve bunu özellikle belirtmek istedim çünkü konserlerde genelde yemek denince akla sadece hamburger, sosisli sandviç ve patates kızartması gelir.
However, I have to say this, it was too hot and the only thing I consumed was cold drinks from water to milkshake. The food choices were also many. You could find food even if you were a vegetarian. You also had healthy options and I wanted to stress this out because when someone says food in the concerts, the only thing that comes to the mind is either hamburgers, hotdogs or fries.
Festivalde gerçekten tek sıkıntım gelen insanlardı. Hepsi itmeye, sıkıştırmaya, izdiham yaratmaya çok meraklı insanlardı. Saatlerce beklemenin getirdiği huzursuzluk da var tabii ki. Ona rağmen her türlü ezilmeyi bile sineye çekiyorum çünkü muhteşem bir deneyim yaşadım.
The only thing I suffered from in the festival was the people. They were really into pushing, pressing and causing a stampede. There was uneasiness due to waiting too much of course. I even put up with being pressed because I had an amazing experience there.
Sahneler V Festival'daki kadar bize yakın değildi ve bu üzücü bir gerçekti. Üstelik de çok yüksekti, sanatçıyı izlerken boyun fıtığı oluyordunuz. Ama bunu Muse bozdu ve ileriki paragraflarda göreceksiniz :)
The stages were not as close as the V Festival and this was a sad story. The stage was also high, you could get a stiff neck while watching the artists. However, Muse tried something else and I'll mention it in the upcoming paragraphs :)
İlk gün olaysız bir şekilde bitti, izlemek istediğim herkesi rahat rahat izledim ve güvenliklerle arkadaş oldum artık. Çok tatlı insanlar, hiçbiri böyle göz korkutucu değil ve aksine yardımseverler.
The first day ended without any incident, I watched everyone easily and became friends with the security guards. They were really nice contrarily to the people here who are intimidating and they were helpful.
Gelelim ikinci güne. Boru değil, Eminem çıkacak. Sabah 7'de gittim sıraya girdim çünkü kilometrelerce yol gelip denizler aşmıştım onun için. En önden izleyebilmeliydim. Sırada en az 4-5 saat beklemişimdir. Sonra kapılar açıldı ve koşarak sahneye gittik. Koşmak çok gerekli zira bir sürü insanın önüne geçebiliyorsunuz. Yürüyerek giderseniz sahne önünü kapmanız imkansız gibi bir şey. Hatta ben bir gün önce sırf bu yüzden rahat takıldım çünkü sahne önüne koşma güzergahına baktım ve plan yaptım :) Akşama kadar asla vakit geçmiyordu. Ergenliğimin grubu The Pretty Reckless sahneye çıkınca heyecanım da yavaştan artmaya başladı. Gerçekten inanılmaz bir kadın Taylor Momsen. Sonrasında Pvris çıktı ve hiç duymadığım bir gruptu. Çok sevdim ve artık şarkılarını dinliyorum zaten :) Derken Migos çıktı ve inanılmaz eğlendirdi. Hepimizin bildiği "Bad and Boujee" şarkısı özellikle herkesi dans ettirdi. Sahneye de bir arkadaşını konuk etti ve kim geldi biliyor musunuz? DRAKE! Bir anda sahneye Drake geldi ve neye uğradığımızı şaşırdık. Konserde Drake'i de böylece dinleme fırsatı elde etmiş oldum, aşırı mutlu olmuştum :) Sonrasında ise Korn ve Major Lazer sahneyi coşturdu. Major Lazer kendini seyircilere attı, üstümüzden zorbing yaparak geçti, bir sürü dansçı ile görsel şölen yaşattı. Ve beklenen an sonunda geldi Eminem sahneye çıktı. İnanılmaz bir sahne kurmuştu ve bütün şarkılarını söyledi tek tek. "Without Me" şarkısından tutun da "Monster" şarkısına kadar eski, popüler ya da düet yaptığı ne varsa her şeyi söyledi. Tabii ki dillere pelesenk olan "Lose Yourself" performansını en sona saklamıştı ve o an gerçekten hepimiz huzura erdik. Belki de 10 yıldır canlı dinlemek için çıldırdığım şarkıyı 24 yaşında anca dinleyebildim. Geç oldu güç olmadı :) Sahneye Trump karşıtı bir tişörtle çıktı, yine siyasetini müziği ile vermiş oldu. Duyarlı olmasını çok seviyorum. Tek üzücü nokta sahnenin bizden uzak olmasıydı. En önde olmama rağmen sahne sanki aramda en az 10 sıra insan varmış gibi uzaktı. Yine de çok güzel bir geceydi tabii ki.
Let's begin with the second day. That's no small matter, Eminem was about to hit the stage. I got in the queue because I went overseas just to be able to see him. I had to be in the front row. I waited at least 4-5 hours. Then the doors were open and we run. You had to run because that was the only way to eliminate the other people. If you walk, then it is almost impossible to form the front line. That was the reason why I was relaxed the day before because I wanted to examine each road so that the next day I would run knowing the route :) Then The Pretty Reckless came to the stage and my excitement increased. Taylor Momsen was unbelievable. Later it was time for Pvris and I'd never heard of them before. I loved them and I listen to them now. After them, Migos hit the stage and he was sooooo fun, especially when he performed the most known song "Bad and Boujee". Then he invited a friend of his, do you know who he was? DRAKE! Drake came to the stage out of the blue and we were taken aback. It was really amazing to get the chance to listen to Drake as well. Korn and Major Lazer did pretty well too. Major Lazer did crowdsurfing, zorbing and gave us a visual feast with their dancers. Later Eminem came. He built an incredible stage and sang all his songs one by one. He sang from "Without Me" to "Monster". He performed old, popular songs and collaborations as well. He, of course, saved "Lose Yourself" until the last moment and at that moment we all attained our desire. I was going crazy to listen to it live on the stage for 10 years, and at the age of 24 I was able to realise this dream. Better late than never :) He was on the stage with an anti Trump t-shirt, he again mingled his music with politics. I love how sensitive he is. The only sad thing was that the stage was far. Although I was in the front row, it was as if there were 10 lines of people in front of me. It was a great night anyway.
Daha bir önceki günü atlatamadan Muse'un sahne alacağı güne geldik. Gece nasıl uyudum, sabah nasıl erken uyandım ve 8'de sıraya girdim asla hatırlamıyorum. Her şey aniden oldu :) Yine çok insan vardı bekleyen ama Eminem kadar değildi. Muse kendisi hem çok turne yaptığı için hem de festivallere çok gittiği için izleme fırsatı olan pek çok insan olmuştur malum. Eminem yıllardır bunu yapmadığı için onun günü daha fazla seyirci toplamıştı. O gün Blossoms diye bir grupla tanıştım, aşırı tatlılar ve değişik bir tarzları var. Çok sevdim. Sonrasında Liam Gallagher çıktı. Herkes onu çok seviyordu, ben hiç duymamıştım ve dinledikten sonra hak verdim. Çok iyi bir sanatçıymış meğerse. Derken Muse'un sahnesi geldi. Muse gelmeden önce podyum kurdurdu ve sahne ağzıma kadar geldi kelimenin tam anlamıyla. Yanına da merdiven kurdular ve içimden bir ses o merdivenden inip yanımıza geleceğini söyledi. Daha da heyecanlandım sizin anlayacağınız. Sonra Muse çıktı. "Psycho" şarkısıyla başlattı konserini. Sahne gösterisi, kullandığı ışıklar ve tabii ki sesi müthişti. Bir 8-9 yıllık hayranlığım da onlara vardır. Sonuçta hangimiz "Supermassive Black Hole" ile büyümedik ki? Sevdiğim bütün şarkıları dinledim orada. "Uprising" şarkısından "Starlight" şarkısına kadar hepsini söyledi. Eski yeni ayırt etmeksizin Eminem gibi o da güzel bir setlist yapmıştı kısacası. Derken tahmin ettiğim gibi sahneden indi ve yanımıza geldi. O güzel ellerini tuttum Matt'in :) İnanılmaz bir andı, anlatırken bile heyecanlanıyorum hala. Migos gibi o da sahneye ayrıca birini davet etti ve aklım almıyor hala, inanamıyorum. AC/DC'nin solisti Brian Johnson sahneye çıktı! En sevdiğim şarkısı "Back in Black" ve onu canlı dinleyebildim kendisinden. Festivalleri bu yüzden çok seviyorum, ne yaşayacağınız asla belli olmuyor :)
Without being able to sink that day in, the day for Muse arrived. I don't even remember how I slept that night, how I woke up after and got in the queue at 8 a.m. in the morning. It happened all of a sudden :) There were lots of people waiting but it wasn't like the day of Eminem. That's because Muse goes on tours all the time and they headline the festivals much more compared to Eminem. I met Blossoms that day. They were so cute and they were different in terms of style. I loved them. Then Liam Gallagher came out and everyone knew him except me. I realised how great he was and now I'm a fan. Later it was time for Muse. Muse installed a catwalk and attached steps next to it. I predicted that they would use it to come near us which made me go insane all of a sudden. They came singing "Psycho" and everything from the lights to the stage were amazing. I've loved them for almost 8-9 years too. Is there anyone who did not grow up listening to "Supermassive Black Hole"? He sang from "Uprising" to "Starlight". He too sang like Eminem, with all of his old and new songs. Then, as I predicted in the beginning, he came near us and I held Matt's hand! I got excited even while writing this. He invited someone to the stage, just like Migos and I can't still believe this because he was the lead singer from AC/DC, Brian Johnson! He sang my favourite song "Back to Black". That's why I love festivals, you never know what's going to happen next :)
Nasıl oldu, ne zaman bitti hiçbir fikrim olmadan su gibi geçti bu üç gün. Bir bakmışım İstanbul'a geri dönmüşüm. İngiltere artık ikinci memleketim benim, orada yaşama yolu bulan bana ulaşsın, beni de alsın :) Umarım bir sonraki yazımda yine sizlerle güzel festivalleri, gezdiğim yerlerdeki tecrübeleri paylaşma fırsatı bulurum.
When it happened or how it ended I did not even realise and days passed so quickly. The next thing I know, I was back to Istanbul. United Kingdom is like a second hometown to me. If someone knows how to move there, please contact me and take me as well :) I hope I will be able to share my experiences from the places I go to and the festivals.
