Franz Ferdinand Konseri (19.06.2019) @ Zorlu PSM

Hi all :)

Dans etmeye hazır bir şekilde, hafta içini umursamayarak eğlenmeye gittim ve asla pişman değilim :) Franz Ferdinand'ın çok aşırı bir hayranı olmasam da gidince çok keyif alacağımı biliyordum, öyle de oldu. Bu İskoç ekip gerçekten sahneyi doldurmayı biliyor.

I went to this concert ready to dance and have fun disregarding the fact that it was taking place on a weekday, and I do not regret it :) Even though I was not a die-hard fan of them, I knew I'd enjoy it and I absolutely did. This Scottish band does know how to put on a show.

Alex Kapranos çok tatlı bir solist ve şarkı aralarında hep seyirciyle iletişim kurdu. Özellikle politik konulara değinmesi ve bu konuda müziğin birleştirici gücünü vurgulaması çok hoşuma gitti. Her zaman diyorum, kesinlikle müziğin iyileştiremeyeceği bir şey yok.

Alex Kapranos is so cute and he is a successful singer. He never lost eye contact with the audience and he spoke to us many times. He especially touched upon the political issues and stressed out the unifying feature of music. I always say it, there is nothing music can't heal.

Sıra çok fazla yoktu, kitle olarak sanırım daha sakin bir kitleydik. İçerisi de gayet rahattı. Ses sistemi zaten çok güzeldi. Franz Ferdinand'ın sahne kullanımı da oldukça başarılıydı. Bir dakika yerinde durmadı Alex. Ayrıca perde çok renkli ve ilgi çekiciydi. Işık kullanımı da tatmin etti.

The queue was not long and I guess, as an audience, we were much calm. The atmosphere was also great. We also enjoyed the sound system. Franz Ferdinand knew how to use the stage, they were really having fun up there. Alex never managed to stay put. The background was colourful and attractive. The use of the lights was also satisfying.

Ekiple ayrıca tanışma fırsatım da oldu. Bildiğiniz gibi yıllar yıllar önce gelmişlerdi, arayı çok açtılar. Neyse ki bir daha bunu yapmayacaklarına dair de sözü kaptım :) "Take Me Out, Love Illumination, Do You Want To" şarkılarını çok seviyorum! Size de aşağıya bir klip bırakıyorum.

I also had the chance to meet the band. As you know, they came here many years ago. I made them promise that they won't do this next time :) I love "Take Me Out, Love Illumination, Do You Want To" so much! I'll also leave a video below.

Tom Odell Konseri (18.02.2019) @ Zorlu PSM

Hi everyone :)

İngiliz olduğu için bende yeri ayrı olan Tom Odell'ı dinlemeye gittim ilk defa. Tatlı biri olduğunu, yetenekli olduğunu biliyordum ama kesinlikle canlı performansı beklentilerimi aştı!

I love Tom Odell, since he's British, he always had a special place :) I knew how cute and talented he was, but his live performance exceeded my expectations!

Biz biraz salınarak gitmiştik konser alanına. Arkadaşım da ben de işten çıkmış ve yorgun argın bir şeyler yiyerek karnımızı doyurmaya çalışmıştık. Kapı açılış saatinden birazcık geç indik aşağıya ve hayatımızın hatasını yaptığımızı fark ettik çünkü bırakın içeride sahneye yakın alan bulmayı, içeri bile giremiyorduk izdihamdan!

We went to the venue lingeringly because both my friend and I were tired and hungry. We went down a bit later than the opening hour but we realised it was the worst mistake we could have ever done because let alone finding space inside, we weren't even able to get in due to the crowd!

Daha önce de geldiği için biletlerin tükenmesine rağmen ben bu kadar kalabalık olmasını beklememiştim. Zorlu'daki bu sezon en kalabalık etkinlik bu olabilir. Arkadan seyretmek zorunda kalacağım için de biraz üzgündüm ama sanırım Tom bunu hissetmiş olacak ki aramıza indi! Bir anda uzakta seçmekte zorlandığım Tom ile aramda sadece 30 cm vardı artık. İnanılmaz güzeldi o aramızdayken hep bir ağızdan şarkılarını söylemek :)

I did not expect such a crowded audience even though his gig was sold out because he came here before. This could be the most crowded event Zorlu hosted this year. I was sad to see him afar but I guess Tom heard my inner voice and he came down the stage! He literally walked towards me and he was only 30 cm away from me! It was an amazing experience to sing his songs out loud with that crowd and with him near us :)

Tabii ki en sevilen şarkısı "Another Love" en sona saklanmıştı. Piyanonun tuşlarına bastığı anda anlamıştık şarkının geldiğini. Yine hep bir ağızdan duygulu duygulu söyledik. Gerçekten canlı dinlemek çok başkaymış. Müzik yeteneği ileri seviyede birisi.

Of course he did not sing "Another Love" until the very end since it is his most popular song. We knew the song was coming the moment he hit the keys. We sang again with all our heart. Listening to him live was beyond great. He is quite talented in music.

Siz de umarım bir gün canlı dinlersiniz. Aşağıya videoya aldığım şarkısını bırakayım da hep beraber biraz hüzünlenelim :)

I hope you get to listen to him live one day. I'll leave the song I recorded below, so we'll all get sad a bit :)

Jay - Jay Johanson Konseri (15.02.2019) @ Zorlu Studio

Merhaba!

Hello!

Studio açıldığından beri çok güzel konserlere ev sahipliği yapıyor, Jay - Jay Johanson da bunlardan biri! İsveçli şarkıcı uzun süredir ülkemize geliyor ve onu seven kitle de oldukça fazla. Ben de hep bir sonrakine giderim diye diye hiç gidememiştim, ilk defa bu konserde onu dinleme fırsatı yakaladım.

Studio has been providing space for amazing concerts and Jay - Jay Johanson is one of those names! This Swedish singer has performed here many times and the audience also loves him very much. I always postponed attending to his gigs, believing there would be another. This was the first time that I managed to go actually.

Synthpop tarzındaki şarkıları ile kendine has bir konser veren Johanson, aynı zamanda 1 gün öncesinde, yani 14 Şubat'ta da konser vererek sevgililere güzel anlar yaşatmıştı. Ben hem vaktim ona uyduğu için, hem de biletler sadece o güne kaldığı için 15'inde gidebilmiştim.

Johanson, who has a unique style with his synthpop songs, also gave a concert the day before, exactly on Valentine's Day, the 14th of February. I was only available on Friday and there were no tickets left for Thursday so I could only attend the one on Friday, the 15th of February.

İki gün arka arkaya olmasına rağmen o gün de enerjisi oldukça yerindeydi. Belki tek eleştirebileceğim nokta hareketli şarkıları olmasına rağmen genelde düşük tempolu şarkılar seçmesiydi. Onun haricinde her şarkısını severek dinledim tabii :) En sevdiğim şarkıları: On The Radio, She Doesn't Live Here Anymore ve So Tell The Girls That I Am Back In Town.

He was quite energetic even though he had 2 consecutive performances. Maybe the only thing I can complain about is that he sang slow songs more than upbeat ones. Other than this, of course I loved each of his songs :) My favourite ones: On The Radio, She Doesn't Live Here Anymore and So Tell The Girls That I Am Back In Town.

Yakın zamanda tekrar görüşeceğimize eminim Jay- Jay! :)

Milky Chance Konseri (27.06.2018) @ Zorlu PSM

Hello everyone :)

Geçen hafta büyük bir heyecanla Zorlu PSM'deki "Milky Chance" konserine gittim. 2016'da büyük isimlerin de çıktığı Soundgarden festivalinde headline olan bu canım grup kendi sahnesinde çok daha eğlenceli, çok daha iyiydi.

Last week I attended "Milky Chance" concert with the utmost enthusiasm at Zorlu PSM. They were the headline group in Soundgarden 2016 along with other big names but their own tour was a lot better and we had more fun.

Hiç bekletmeden tam vaktinde çıktılar sahneye. Böyle yapan sanatçılara/gruplara bayılıyorum. The Blossom Tour kapsamında ülkemize gelen Milky Chance müzik tarzı olarak çok farklı türü bir arada barındırıyor. Elektronik, pop, folk... Kısacası ne ararsanız onlarda mevcut. Dinlerken de çok büyük zevk alıyorsunuz, onları sahnede izlerken de.

They came to the stage on time. I love such artists/groups. The style of Milky Chance, who came here for The Blossom Tour, has a little bit of everything. Electronic, pop, folk... In short, they have everything you can come up with. You have a great deal of fun both when you listen to them and when you watch them live on the stage.

Alman ikili Clemens ve Philipp dünya çapında oldukça ünlüler. Coachella gibi büyük pek çok festivalde yer alan bu grup daha önce yukarıda belirttiğim festival kapsamında ilk defa ülkemize gelmişlerdi. Bu turneye bizi ekledikleri için çok mutluyum o açıdan.

German duo Clemens and Philipp are famous worldwide. They participated in big festivals such as Coachella and their first time here was also for another festival as I stated above. Therefore, I'm quite happy that they added us to their tour list.

Konsere dair eğlenceli anılarım var. Bunlardan ilki Clemens'in Türkçe bilgilerini konuşturduğu andı. Eskiden Türk bir sevgilisi olmuş ve ondan biraz Türkçe kapmış. Hatırladığım kelimeleri sizinle paylaşmak istiyorum dedi ve söylediği kelimeler: gergedan, aslan, kaplan, eşek şakası vb. hem hatırlaması zor hem de bir dili öğrenen kişinin pek öğrenmeyeceği kelimeler kısacası. Bir de özne ile yüklemi tutturamayıp tatlı tatlı "seni seviyoruz" dediği an vardı, o çok güzeldi işte :)

I have some fun memories from that night. The first one is when Clemens began sharing his Turkish knowledge. He had a Turkish girlfriend back then and he managed to learn some words from her. He told us that he wanted to share the words he could remember and here are them: rhino, lion, tiger, prank, etc. They are both hard to remember and not easy to memorize. I still wonder how he managed to remember them. Then there was a moment where he failed to use the appropriate subject with the verb and he said "I loves you" in the cutest way :)

Philipp bateride harikalar yarattı ama Antonio'yu da es geçemeyeceğim zira kendisi çok güzel mızıka çalıyor. Hatta bir ara hiçbirimiz Clemens'e bakmayıp ona odaklandık. Hepsi hem sahnede çok eğlendi hem de bizi eğlendirdi. İşini severek yapanlar gerçekten belli oluyor.

Phillip was amazing at using the drums but I cannot disregard Antonio who played harmonica very well. At one point we even stopped looking at Clemens and only focused on him. They had fun on the stage and they made sure that we had fun. It becomes quite obvious when someone does their job with love.

Herkes "Sadnecessary" albümüyle tanıyıp sevse de lütfen "Blossom" albümüne de bakın, muazzam parçalar var. "Blossom, Ego, Doing Good, Cold Blue Rain, Cocoon, Peripeteia" benim albümde en sevdiklerim. Daha önce hiç Milky Chance dinlemediyseniz aşağıya hepimizin ilk defa dinleyip sevmeye başladığı şarkıyı bırakıyorum. Sonra gerisi gelecek zaten eminim :)

Even though everyone got to know them and loved them with their album "Sadnecessary", please do check out their "Blossom" album. They have amazing tracks there. My favourites are "Blossom, Ego, Doing Good, Cold Blue Rain, Cocoon, Peripeteia". If you have never listened to Milky Chance before, here I leave the first song that we began to love them. Then the rest will follow, I'm sure :)

LP Konseri (02.04.2018) @ Zorlu PSM

Hi everyone :)

Birçok tanınan şarkıcıya söz yazarlığı yapan ve kendisi de harika bir sanatçı olan LP sonunda İstanbul'a teşrif etti. 37 yaşında New York'lu olan LP sesiyle ve enerjisiyle hepimizi büyüledi. 31 Mart'ta Ankara'da konser verdi, 1 ve 2 Nisan'da da İstanbul'da Zorlu PSM'deydi. 25. İstanbul Caz Festivali konserlerinden biri olan bu etkinlik hepimize unutulmaz dakikalar yaşattı.

LP, who has been writing song lyrics to known singers, is herself an amazing artist and she has finally come to Istanbul. LP, a 37 year old singer from New York, enchanted us with her voice and energy. She gave a concert in Ankara on the 31st of March, and then she stopped by Istanbul for two consecutive concerts in the 1st and the 2nd of April at Zorlu PSM. This event, as a part of 25th Istanbul Jazz Festival, has given us unforgettable moments.

LP'nin burada bu kadar hayranı olduğunu açıkçası bilmiyordum. Farklı şehirlerden gelen bir sürü kişi vardı ve konserin akşam 8'de olmasına rağmen sıra öğlen 1 gibi başlamıştı. Tam anlamıyla kalabalık da saat 5'ten itibaren oluşmaya başladı. Hem oturmalı hem de ayakta bilet satışı gerçekleştirilen bu etkinlik gerçekten pek çok kişiyi ağırlamış oldu. Saat 7'de kapılar açıldı ve heyecanlı bekleyiş başladı. Hiç bekletmeden tam saatinde sahneye çıktı LP. Şunu söylemeden geçemeyeceğim, hem sesi hem de kendisi çok karizmatik.

I did not know that LP had that many fans in here. There were many people coming from other cities and the queue began at about 1 o'clock in the afternoon even though the concert was supposed to begin at 8 p.m. and lots people had already arrived by 5 p.m. which surprised me a lot. This event hosted many people by selling both standing and seating area tickets. At 7 p.m. the doors were open and then we began to wait for her excitedly. She hit the stage on time without making us wait any longer. I should say this, both she and her voice are quite charismatic.

LP kesinlikle "Lost On You" şarkısından daha fazlası. Sahnedeki enerjisi, aramıza inip bizimle fotoğraf çektirmesi, ona hazırlanan hediyeleri alması, her şarkıda göz kontağı kurması... Her şeyiyle bize çok güzel anlar yaşattı. Kendisi de çok mutluydu. İstanbul'a ilk defa geldiğini ve çok sevdiğini söyledi. Bir daha geleceğine eminim.

LP is definitely more than "Lost On You". Her energy on stage, coming down to take pictures with us, receiving the gifts people made for her, making eye contact in every song she sang... We really had a good time. She was also rather happy. She told that it was her first time in Istanbul and she loved being here. I'm sure that she will come once again.

Yine şansım sayesinde elim boş dönmedim, setlist'i kaptım :) En sevdiğim şarkılarını söyledi ve bir dakika bile yerimde duramadım ben de. Favorilerim Other People, Suspicion ve When We're High. Dinlemediyseniz hemen dinlemenizi öneriyorum.

Again thanks to my luck, I didn't come back home empty-handed. I got the setlist :) She sang the songs I love the most and I could not stay put even for a second. My favourites ones are Other People, Suspicion and When We're High. If you still haven't listened to them, I suggest you do it now.
