Uzun bir aradan sonra ufak bir film eleştiri yazısı paylaşmak istedim. 😇

İzlediğim son filmlerden biri olan "Mumyalar" hakkındaki düşüncelerimi şimdi sizler için hemen yazıyorum. 👀 Macera ve aksiyon dolu bir film olan "Mumyalar", sizi eski Mısır ve modern Londra'da unutulmaz bir maceraya götürüyor. Hikaye, kraliyet ailesine ait eski bir yüzüğün, hırslı bir arkeolog tarafından çalınması üzerine üç mumyanın yola çıkmasıyla başlıyor.

Filmin hızlı tempolu aksiyon ve macerası beni çok etkiledi. Kedi-fare kovalamasından epik dövüş sahnelerine kadar her şeyi içeren film, heyecan dolu sahneleri ve konusuyla beni koltuğun ucunda tutmaya yetti. 💥 Yoğun aksiyona rağmen, film aynı zamanda dostluk, sadakat; kültür ve geleneklerin önemini de keşfetmeyi başarıyor.

GREASE (1978)

Grease, which takes its name from the nickname "greasers", which was given to the young people working in America after the 1950s, reveals a love story set in high school with different character conflicts. This play, which enriches the script with its soundtracks, is one of Broadway's longest running productions.

    Aldığı olumlu eleştiriler sonucu 1978 yılında filme çevrilen oyunun başrollerini o dönemde dansları ve oyunculuğu ile ön planda olan John Travolta ile Olivia Newton-John paylaşıyor. NINE (2009)

    Federico Fellini’nin yarı otobiyografik olma özelliği taşıyan 1963 yapımı “Otto e Mezzo” filmi üzerinden yazılan Nine müzikali aslında bir ders projesi olarak ortaya çıkmış. Maury Yeston’ın yazdığı ve 1982 yılında Broadway yapımı olarak sahnelenen bu müzikal Tony ödülleri de kazanmış ve oldukça beğenilmiş. Orta yaş bunalımında olan 40’lı yaşlardaki yönetmen Guido Contini’nin kaybetmeye başladığı yaratıcılığını ve kadınlarla olan ilişkisini konu alan bu müzikalde Guido’nun dengeyi kurmak için nasıl çabaladığını seyrediyoruz.

    The "Nine" musical, based on Federico Fellini's 1963 movie "Otto e Mezzo", which is semi-autobiographical, actually emerged as a lecture project. Written by Maury Yeston and staged as a Broadway production in 1982, this musical Tony won awards and was highly appreciated. In this musical we watch how Guido Contini, who is in his mid-life crisis as a forty something, begins to lose his creativity and his successful relationships with women which pushes him to try to balance everything.

    Beyazperdeye 2009 yılında Daniel Day-Lewis, Judi Dench, Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, Penélope Cruz, Sophia Loren, Kate Hudson, ve Stacy Ferguson gibi başarılı oyuncularla aktarılan filmin oyunla arasında çok büyük farklılık yok. Film için ekstra olarak sadece yeni şarkılar yazılmış. For those who watch it, it is easier to notice the differences between Guido's dreams and real life in the film, but this distinction is not very clear in the play.

HAIR (1979)

    James Rado ve Gerome Ragni tarafından yazılan oyun 1967’de sergilenmeye başlanmış. Hippi kültürünü ve Vietnam savaşına karşıtlığı konu edinen bu oyun küfürlü konuşmalar ve çıplak sahneler içerdiği için çok ses getirmiş. Hippilerin New York’taki bohem hayatları müziklerle çok güzel bir şekilde yansıtılmış ve herkesin şu an aşina olduğu “Let The Sunshine In” şarkısı da yıllarca dillere pelesenk olmuş haliyle. 

    Written by James Rado and Gerome Ragni, the play began to be shown in 1967. This play, which is about the hippie culture and the opposition to the Vietnam War, has made a lot of noise because it contains abusive speech and nude scenes. The bohemian lives of the hippies in New York are reflected very well with the music, and the song "Let The Sunshine In", which everyone is familiar with now, has been sung by many.

    Milos Forman tarafından yönetmenliği üstlenilen film adaptasyonu 1979 yılında gösterime girmiş.     The film adaptation, directed by Milos Forman, was released in 1979. Starring actors such as John Savage and Treat Williams, the film is among the classics of the history of world cinema. There are many differences between the musical version and the screen adaptation. The places where the characters live and the events that happen to them have been changed. While the musical focuses more on the American peace movement and the love affair between the hippies, the film emphasizes the carefree life of the hippies. Still, it should be remarked that both versions are impressive.

LES MISERABLES (2012)

    1980 yılında Paris’te, 1985 yılında West End’de ve 1987 yılında Broadway'de sahnelenmeye başlanan oyun Victor Hugo’nun sefiller isimli romanından konusunu alıyor. Oyunda eski mahkûm olan Jean Valjean'ın nasıl yaşam mücadelesini verdiğini, diğer karakterlerle olan ilişkisini ve Fransa’daki siyasi karışıklığı izliyoruz. West End’de en uzun soluklu müzikal olmasının yanı sıra dünyada da ikinci en uzun soluklu müzikal olarak kabul ediliyor. 

    The play that was first staged in Paris in 1980, at the West End in 1985 and on Broadway in 1987 is based on Victor Hugo's novel The Miserable. In the play, we watch how ex-convict Jean Valjean struggles to survive, his relationship with other characters and the political turmoil in France. In addition to being the longest running musical in the West End, it is also regarded as the second longest running musical in the world.

    Klasikleşen bu yapıtın filmleri de birden fazla oldu. 1952’den itibaren pek çok filmi çekilen bu oyunun en ses getiren uyarlaması 2012 yılında geldi. Yönetmenliğini Tom Hooper’ın üstlendiği filmde başrolleri Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anna Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried gibi oldukça başarılı oyuncular paylaşıyor. Akademi ve BAFTA ödülleri dahil bir çok ödülle taçlandırılan film eleştirmenlerden de olumlu yorum aldı.     There were more than one adaptations of this classic work. The most prominent adaptation of this play, which has had many film versions since 1952, came in 2012. Directed by Tom Hooper, the film stars highly successful actors such as Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anna Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried. The film, which was granted with many awards including the Academy and BAFTA awards, received positive reviews from the critics. The fact that the music was recorded live during the shooting phase is another factor that played a role in making this film outstanding.

Wakanda forever!

Filmi izlemiş olanlar ne demek istediğimi anladı ancak izlemeyenlere söylemeliyim ki çok şey kaçırıyorsunuz. Bu film önemli bir yere sahip çünkü ilk siyahi süper kahraman filmi ve The Lion King göndermeleriyle birlikte -ki bu benim oldukça ilgimi çekti- sömürgecilik sonrasına da dokundurmalar yapıyor. Buradan sonra spoiler gelecek, dikkat edin!

The people who have already seen the film got me, and for those of you who still haven't seen it yet, you're missing out big time. This film is important because it is the first black superhero film and it also gives us the themes of post-colonialism along with references to The Lion King which intrigued me a lot. Spoilers ahead, so watch out!

Çizgi romanlarda siyahi karakterler olmasına rağmen genellikle beyaz bir bağlamda yaşıyorlar ancak Black Panther filminde öyle değil. Olay tamamen geleneklerle, sadık olmakla, o siyahi toplulukla alakalı. Film Wakanda'da geçiyor ve teknolojik olarak çok gelişmişler çünkü vibranyum elementini kendi çıkarları için kullanıyorlar. Doğal kaynaklarını diğerleriyle paylaşmıyorlar. Avrupa'nın kolonileştirmesinden bir şekilde uzak durmayı başarmışlar ve istilacıları bloke etmişler. En çok sevdiğim şey ise Wakanda'lılar oldu. Kabile motifleriyle süslenmiş vücutları, değişik saç şekilleri ve farklı bir dilleri var. Bu kadar gelişmiş olup aynı zamanda da bu kadar kültürlerini korumaları ve bağlı kalmaları aklımı başımdan aldı. Kimliklerine bu kadar kuvvetli sarılmaları onları daha çok sevmemi sağladı. 

I have realised that in the comics, although they are Black people, they seem to be living in a White context whereas in Black Panther it is all about traditions, loyalty and that Black community. The film takes place in Wakanda and they are technologically advanced because they use the vibranium only for their benefits. They do not share their natural resources with the others. They have somehow managed to stay out of European colonization and blocked the invaders. What I loved the most were the people of Wakanda. They had tribal body markings, different hair styles and a different tongue. Being so advanced and yet at the same being this protective of their culture and being loyal to it literally blew my mind. Embracing their identity this strong made me love them even more.

Bu sözü duyduğumuz zaman hepimizin güldüğüne eminim. Gözden uzak bir şekilde yaşıyorlar ve kimse onların doğal kaynaklarını bilmiyor. Hala Ajan Ross'un laboratuvarda uyandığında yüzündeki şok ifadesini hatırlıyorum. Bence bu aslında Batı hiç bulaşmasaydı Afrika ne halde olabilirdi sorusuna bir cevap gibi aynı zamanda.

I’m sure we all laughed when we heard this line. They live secluded and no one knows about their natural resources. I still remember the shock on Agent Ross’ face when he wakes up in the laboratory. I believe this also shows what could have become of Africa if the West had never put their hands on Africa.

Şimdi Aslan Kral hakkında konuşalım. Tahta geçme seremonisini görür görmez zaten o an bir meydan okuma olacağını biliyordum ve birdenbire karşımızda Killmonger çıkıyor. Şunu kabul etmeliyim ki kendisi ÇOK YAKIŞIKLI ve bunun konumuzla hiçbir alakası yok, evet, hahah :) T'Chaka öldüğünde T'Challa tahta geçiyor. Ancak yukarıda bahsettiğim Killmonger ona meydan okumaya gliyor ve bu bize Aslan Kral'ı hatırlatıyor. Mufasa kendi kardeşi tarafından öldürülüyor ve oğlu Simba amcası Scar'la savaşmak için geri geliyor. Görsel olarak da bu film bize yine animasyonu anımsatıyor. T'Challa babasını hayal gibi güzel ve uzun ağaçlı bir yerde görüyor ve bu Rafiki'nin yaşlı ağacının aynısı. Ayrıca T'Challa şelaleden aşağı düşüyor Killmonger ile savaşırken ve bu Mufasa'nın uçurumdan düştüğü sahne ile aynı. T'Challa ve Killmonger'ın Wakanda'yı tepeden seyrettiği uçurumdaki o sahne de yine Mufasa ile Simba'nın gün batımını seyrederken krallıktan konuşmalarına benziyor.

Let’s talk about The Lion King. As soon as I saw the ceremony of taking the throne, I instantly knew there would be a challenge soon and then Killmonger came out of the blue. I have to admit that he is HOT, but this has nothing to do with our context anyway haha! When T’Chaka dies, T’Challa takes the throne. However, the aforementioned Killmonger comes along to challenge him which reminds us of The Lion King. Mufasa is murdered by his own brother and his son Simba returns to fight his uncle Scar for the throne. The film visually reminds us of this animation as well. T’Challa saws his dad in a dreamy land with a long tree and it is exactly like Rafiki’s ancient tree. In addition, T’Challa falls off the waterfall while fighting with Killmonger and it resembles Mufasa’s fall from the cliff. Also the scene where T’Challa and Killmonger are on the cliff watching Wakanda from the top reminds us where Mufasa and Simba talk about their kingdom while watching the sunset.

Bütün film boyunca gözümü bir an bile kırpamadım ve 2 saatten fazla sürseydi bile yine seyrederdim. Avengers: Infinity War filmini de heyecanla bekliyorum çünkü işler bayağı karıştı.

I couldn’t even blink my eyes during the whole film and if it lasted for more than 2 hours, I’d gladly continue watching it. I can hardly wait for Avengers: Infinity War because things got complicated.

Son ama önemli olarak şunu söylemek istiyorum, keşke Wakanda üyesi olsam!

Last but not least, I wish I were a Wakanda citizen!

It's been a long time since I shared a post about cinema here. I decided that I'll post more about it this year as a 2018 resolution. I'll begin with writing about the 75th Golden Globe Awards night that took place in Beverly Hills, The Beverly Hilton.

Öncesinde kırmızı halıya gidelim. Sevdiğim bazı kıyafetleri paylaşmak istiyorum ve paylaşmadan önce de bahsetmek istediğim bir oluşum var. Kadınların özellikle iş yerlerinde ayrımcılığa ve tacize uğradığı açıkça bilinen bir gerçek. Hollywood'un tanınan isimleri "Time's Up" yani "Zaman Doldu" ismi altında bir araya geldiler. Firstly, I'll talk about the red carpet. I'd like to share with you some of the gowns I adored and before I get to it, I want to mention a movement. It's a known fact that women suffer from discrimination and harassment in a workplace. Celebrities came together to form "Time's Up" movement. They help these people via donations and they also help them legally to protect their rights. It's important that these celebrity figures start such a thing because they can reach to millions. You might be asking why I talked about this. I did because it made a tremendous impact on the ceremony as well. Everyone wore black to show that they support this movement and raised awareness by using "#WhyWeWearBlack" hashtag on the social media. The best part is that even the actors wore pins that had the logo of this movement. From Ewan McGregor to Chris Hemsworth, from Jude Law to Justin Timberlake, many actor did this.

Dakota Johnson, who attracted a great deal of attention with "Fifty Shades of Grey", suited really well to the red carpet in her gown with the train. Her Gucci gown looks plain on the surface but when she turns back, all the magnificient details come out.

Jessica Biel'in elbisesi Christian Dior imzalı. Kendisi hem sade hem şık olmayı başarabilen nadir isimlerden. Çok güzel bir kadın olduğunu düşünüyorum ben zaten. Justin Timberlake ile de çok yakışıyorlar :)

"Stranger Things" dizisiyle ünlenen 13 yaşındaki gencecik güzel kız Millie Bobby Brown'ın elbisesi özel Calvin Klein tasarımı. Yaşına göre bence şimdiden çok alımlı, çok güzel. 

Millie Bobby Brown, who became famous at the age of 13 thanks to the TV show "Stranger Things" wore a custom made Calvin Klein gown. She is already a charming and beautiful lady.

"Game of Thrones" dizisinin muhteşem Khaleesi'si su gibi olmuş kelimenin tam anlamıyla. Miu Miu tasarımı elbisesi ve sade takılarıyla göz dolduruyor. Ayakkabılarına da ayrı bayıldım. Makyajsız bile çok güzel bir kadın kendisi.

Khaleesi from "Game of Thrones" look amazing in that dress. It is from Miu Miu and she completed that look with plain accessories. I loved her shoes as well. She is even more beautiful without any make-up on.

Ve gelelim yıllardır genç ve güzel kalabilen Angelina Jolie'ye. Atelier Versace'den giyinen Jolie, bu ödül törenine oyuncu değil yönetmen olarak katıldı. "En İyi Yabancı Dilde Film" kategorisinde yarışıyordu bu yıl kendisi "First They Killed My Father" filmiyle. Kazanamadı o ayrı.

And here is Angelina Jolie, who has managed to stay beautiful and young all these years. Her gown is from Atelier Versace and she attended the ceremony as a director this time, not as an actress. She was nominated for the "Best Motion Picture - Foreign Language" with her film "First They Killed My Father" but she didn't win.

We sometimes think that black cannot catch any attention but it does. We can see it here with Diane Kruger's gown. She wore a custom made Prada. She is the protagonist of Fatih Akın's film "In The Fade". The film won the award, hoping the same for the Oscars.

Prenses olsam böyle giderdim herhalde törene. Gerçekten çok gösterişli bir Giambattista Valli elbisesi giymiş Kendall Jenner. Zaten incecik olduğu için böyle kabarık şeyler giymesinde bir sorun yok, asla kusur göstermiyor. Ayakkabıları da çok zarif.

I'd attend the ceremony like this if I were a princess. Kendall Jenner wore such a wonderful dress from Giambattista Valli. It's okay for her to wear such fluffy dresses since she is so thin. Her shoes are elegant too.

Gelelim film yorumlarına. Bu yıl gerçekten film adaylarından çok memnunum ve hatta bazı kategorilerde seçim yapmakta bile zorlandım. Genelde "Bu film nasıl aday gösterilmiş?" ya da "Kesin bu alır, diğer filmler yanına bile gelemez" diyordum. Şimdi inanılmaz güçlü adaylar gördüm. Belki de bu yıl insanlar daha fazla üretkendi, orasını bilemiyorum :)

Let's cut to the chase and talk about the films. I'm quite content about the nominees and sometimes it was hard to pick a winner. I usually think "How that film was nominated?" or "This will definitely win, other films won't make it" when it is time for Golden Globe predictions but this year I've seen many great nominees. Maybe people have become more productive this year, I don't know :)

Bu filmin henüz seyretmedim ancak ağır bir dram olduğu kesin. Martin McDonagh yönetmenliğinde gerçekleşen film, kayıp kızını arayan bir annenin yaşadıklarını anlatıyor. Hep beraber seyredelim zira 90. Akademi Ödül Töreni 4 Mart'ta gerçekleşecek. Gelmeden hepsini izlemek lazım malum bu ödül töreni onun habercisi. Diğer adaylar da The Post, The Shape of Water, Call Me By Your Name ve Dunkirk olarak listelenmişti. Dunkirk ya da Call Me By Your Name alabilir diye düşünüyordum, yanıldım.
  
  "Best Motion Picture - Drama" award went to Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. I haven't seen it yet, but surely involves a heavy drama. Martin McDonagh is the director and the film is about a mother whose daughter goes missing. Let's watch this together because 90th Academy Awards will take place on the 4th of March. We should see each film before it happens. The other nominees were The Post, The Shape of Water, Call Me By Your Name and Dunkirk. I thought maybe Dunkirk or Call Me By Your Name would win but I was wrong.

• Müzikal veya komedi kategorisinde"En İyi Film" ödülünü Lady Bird kaptı. Kadın bir yönetmen (Greta Gerwig) elinden çıktığı için ayrıca seviniyorum. Başrol oyuncusu Saoirse Ronan da çok başarılı. Diğer adaylar The Disaster Artist, Get Out, The Greatest Showman ve I, Tonya'ydı. Get Out filmi zaten gerilim ve gizem filmi. Burada olmaması lazım aslında. The Greatest Showman ödül alsa da çok sevinirdim çünkü asla etkisinden çıkamadığım bir film oldu kendisi. Broadway'de müzikal yapsalar koşa koşa giderim. Ona ayrıca bir yazı yazma planım var zaten. Onun dışında diğer adaylar da uygun ve güzeldi. Kim alsa üzülmezdim.
  
  "Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy" award went to Lady Bird. I'm also happy because the director is a woman (Greta Gerwig). The protagonist Saoirse Ronan is so talented. The other nominees were The Disaster Artist, Get Out, The Greatest Showman and I, Tonya. Get Out is a mystery and thriller film so I wonder why it was nominated in this category in the first place. I would also be happy if The Greatest Showman won because I really loved the film. I also plan on writing a post about it later. Other than that, I would be happy no matter who won in this category.

• Drama kategorisinde "En İyi Aktör" ödülü Darkest Hour filmi ile Gary Oldman'a gitti. Bu adama Léon: The Professional filminden beri bayılıyorum. Hangi filmde rolü olsa ödül vermeye hazırım zaten. Daniel Day-Lewis, Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington gibi büyük isimlerle aynı kategorideydi. Call Me By Your Name filmiyle ses getiren Timothée Chalamet de adaydı ancak onu orada beklemiyordum açıkçası. Oyunculuğu çok iyiydi ancak bu ödül için yeterli miydi bilemedim.
  
  "Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama" award went to Gary Oldman for his role in Darkest Hour. I've loved him since the moment I saw him in Léon: The Professional. I'm ready to hand him any award whenever I come across him. He was nominated along with Daniel Day-Lewis, Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington. Timothée Chalamet who caught attention for his role in Call Me By Your Name was also nominated. He is a talented actor but not enough talented for this award I believe.

  "Best Director - Motion Picture" category is a bit disheartening because all the nominees are male. We can infer from here why the "Time's Up" movement came out. As I predicted, Guillermo Del Toro won for his film The Shape of Water. Martin McDonagh, Christopher Nolan, Ridley Scott and Steven Spielberg are already recognized as talented directors, so it's not a shame that they didn't win.

• "En İyi Animasyon Filmi" olarak ödülü Coco aldı. Bu film oldukça ses getirdi. Disney Pixar yapımı olan animasyonda Miguel karakterinin müzisyen olma yolculuğunu izliyoruz. The Breadwinner filmi de çok başarılı konu itibariyle. Erkek kılığına girip Afganistan'da geçimini sağlamaya çalışan bir kız izliyoruz. Dreamworks yapımı The Boss Baby de aşırı eğlenceli bir filmdi. Loving Vincent ise yapı itibariyle oldukça değişik. Yağlı boya tablo animasyonlarıyla Van Gogh'un anlatıldığı bu film de bence ödülü hak ediyor. Sakin mizaçlı bir boğanın öyküsünü anlatan film Ferdinand ise Tweentieth Century Fox ve Blue Sky imzası taşıyor.
  
  "Best Motion Picture - Animated" award went to Coco. This film gained much attention. We see Miguel's journey on becoming a musician in this Disney Pixar animation. The Breadwinner is also a successful film. It tells the story of a young girl in Afghanistan disguising herself as a boy in order to provide for her family. The Boss Baby produced by Dreamworks Pictures is also so fun. Loving Vincent is different than the others in terms of style because it uses oily canvas look while telling the story of Van Gogh. Ferdinand, produced by Blue Sky and Tweentieth Century Fox, shows a calm bull who does not want to fight like the others.

The only thing I know is Diane Kruger is a great actress and her film In The Fade won the award. The director is Fatih Akın. The Square had many fans, I thought it would win but I was wrong. The other films were A Fantastic Woman, First They Killed My Father and Loveless.

• "En İyi Şarkı" ödülünü The Greatest Showman'in en güzel şarkılarından olan This Is Me kaptı. Bu film gerçekten ödülü hak ediyordu ama ayrıyeten bu şarkının alması çok özel. Eğer dinlemediyseniz dinledikten sonra siz de hak vereceksiniz. Ferdinand, Mudbound, Coco ve The Star filmleri de şarkılarıyla adaydı hatta belki Ferdinand alabilir diye de içimden bir an geçmişti çünkü şarkıyı Nick Jonas seslendirdi.
  
  "Best Original Song - Motion Picture" award went to one of the amazing songs of The Greatest Showman called This Is Me. This film deserved all the awards but it is also a special thing that this song won and you'll know what I mean once you see the film or listen to this song. Ferdinand, Mudbound, Coco and The Star were other nominees and I thought Ferdinand might win because it was Nick Jonas' song.

• "En İyi Televizyon Dizisi" ödülü drama kategorisinde canım dizim The Handmaid's Tale'ın oldu. Bu dizinin kitabını lisedeyken okumuştum, inanılmaz iç karartıcı bir distopya. I congratulate them for adapting this story with such a cinematography. The other nominees were Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, This Is Us and The Crown.

• "En İyi Mini Dizi veya Televizyon Filmi" ödülünü Big Little Lies aldı. Zaten onun alması bekleniyordu açıkçası bir sürpriz olmadı. Fargo, Feud: Bette and Joan, The Sinner ve Top of the Lake: Chinagirl dizilerini geride bıraktı.

Yine hepimizi heyecanlandıran bir geceydi bu ödül töreni bizler için. Jimmy Kimmel sunumuyla gerçekleşen tören tabii ki önce kırmızı halıdaki şıklık yarışıyla başladı. Filmlerle ve törenle ilgili yorumlarıma geçmeden önce beğendiğim kıyafetler hakkında biraz konuşmak istiyorum.

It was again an awards night that hyped us. The ceremony hosted by Jimmy Kimmel of course began with a style competition among the artists arriving to the red carpet. Before I move on to my comments about the films and the ceremony, I'd like to talk about the dresses I loved a bit.

Bu seneki kıyafetlerde genel olarak gümüş ve altın renkleri tercih edilmiş. Geçen seneyle kıyaslayınca bu seneki elbiseleri daha çok beğendiğimi söylemeliyim. Ancak after party'de tercih edilen kıyafetler kırmızı halıdaki kıyafetlerden kat kat daha güzeldi. Bunun böyle olmasını mı istediler yoksa tesadüf müydü bilmiyorum ama after party'de giydikleri kıyafetleri ödül töreninde giymelerini tercih ederdim.

This year they mainly chose to wear silver and gold dresses. Compared to the previous year, I should say that I liked this year's dresses more. However, the dresses they wore at the after party were much better than the ones at the ceremony. I don't know whether this was intentional or not but I'd prefer they wore the dresses they chose for the after party at the ceremony itself.

Hailee Steinfeld ile başlayabiliriz. 20 yaşındaki bu güzel aktrisin kıyafeti en sevdiğim markalardan biri olan Ralph&  Russo yapımı. Çiçek detayları ve tül çok yakışmış.

We can start with Hailee Steinfeld. The dress this 20 year old actress is wearing is made by Ralph & Russo which is one my favourites. Floral details and the tulle upon it looks quite nice.

Empire dizisini yeni izlemeye başlamış birisi olarak herkes gibi Taraji P. Henson'ı çok seviyorum. 46 yaşında olmasına rağmen asla yaşını göstermiyor ve Alberta Ferretti imzalı elbisesi çok yakışmış. Siyahın tüm asaletini kendisinde görebiliyoruz.

As a person who has recently began to watch Empire, I love Taraji P. Henson a lot. She doesn't show her age even though she is 46 and the Alberta Ferretti dress looks very good. We can see the elegance of black on her.

Scarlett Johansson, who preferred to wear spring colours on her, seems a bit overweight due to the looseness of the dress but she still looks beautiful.

Geçen seneki filmi Room ile hepimizin favorisi olan Brie Larson tercihini siyah bir Oscar de la Renta elbiseden yana kullanmış. Kuyruğu farklı olsa daha çok sevebilirdim ama yine de elbisenin önden görüntüsü çok hoş.

Brie Larson, who is our favourite from the film Room, wore a black Oscar de la Renta dress. I would like the dress more if the tail were a bit different but still the front view is pretty.

Ve hepimizin favori çiftinden Chrissy Teigen da Zuhair Murad elbisesi giymiş. John Legend ile kıskanılacak bir ilişkide olan ve inanılmaz tatlı bir bebeği olan Chrissy Teigen verdiği kilolarını da böylelikle gözler önüne seriyor.

And Chrissy Teigen from our favourite couple wore a Zuhair Murad dress. Chrissy, who has an enviable relationship with John Legend and an incredibly cute baby, shows how much weight she lost with this dress.

Scream Queens'in başrollerinden ve Nerve filmi ile ilgi uyandıran Emma Roberts ise Armani'nin elbisesini tercih etmiş. Çok zarif görünmüyor mu sizce de?

Emma Roberts, who aroused interest with her latest movie Nerve and who is one of the leading actresses from Scream Queens, chose to wear a dress from Armani. Doesn't she look elegant?

Geçen yıl Birdman, bu yıl da La La Land ile ses getiren Emma Stone buğday teni ve kızıl saçlarıyla çok uyumlu bir şekilde gold elbise tercih etmiş. Elbiseyi çok detaylı ve göz yorucu bulsam da kendisine yakıştırdığını itiraf etmem gerek.

Emma Stone, who made an impact with Birdman last year, and with La La Land this year, preferred to wear a gold dress which suited her fair skin and red hair. Although I find the dress eye-straining and too much detailed, I should admit that it looks great on her.

Felicity Jones sade ve soluk renkli bir Dior elbise tercih etmiş. Elbisenin alt kısmı vücut yapısına göre çok bol olduğu için onu kilolu gösterse de elbisenin sadeliği kırmızı halıda çok güzel durmuş bence.

Felicity Jones chose a simple and a dull coloured dress by Dior. The bottom part of the dress makes her look a bit overweight since it is loose but still the simplicity of the dress looks good on the red carpet.

Kırmızı halıdaki bir başka güzel isimse Kate Hudson. Üstü taş detaylı elbisesi hem şık hem de abartı değil. Elbisesi de Atelier Versace'den.

Another beauty on the red carpet is Kate Hudson. Her Atelier Versace dress with diamonds is both stylish and it is not overdone.

Dümdüz bir siyah elbise olmasına rağmen Dior elbisesiyle oldukça şık görünen Kirsten Dunst, makyajı, saçı ve takılarıyla kırmız halıya yakışan isimlerden olmuş.

Kirsten Dunst was one of the names who looked good on the red carpet with her plain black Dior dress along with her make-up, hair and accessories.

Suicide Squad ile ses getiren Margot Robbie de bu yıl gold elbise tercih edenlerden. Çuval bile giyse yakışır denebilecek bu güzel oyuncumuz Tom Ford elbisesinin hakkını vermiş.

Margot Robbie who made an impact with her film Suicide Squad wore a gold dress like the others. Even a sack would look good on her, so she looks beautiful in that Tom Ford dress too.

Saoirse Ronan bana göre hafife alınan oyunculardan biri. Daha çok ilgi görmeli çünkü oyunculuk yetenekleri gerçekten harika. Tarzını hiç abartmadı ve hala o yolda devam ediyor. Bu sade ve payetli elbisesi Calvin Klein'dan.



Saoirse Ronan is one of the underrated actresses according to me. She should get much more attention because her acting skills are beyond good. She has never exaggerated her style and she still continues that way. Her modest and sequined dress is from Calvin Klein.

Lastly, I want to talk about Halle Berry. I've always loved her curly hair and she look amazing in her Versace dress. The top part could be different maybe because the colour black kind of irritates but anyway she looks beautiful.

I didn't like the ceremony hosted by Chris Rock last year and I didn't like this year as well unfortunately. Even though Jimmy Kimmel tried really hard to make us laugh, he only managed to make me smile a bit once or twice during the whole ceremony. They dropped down cookies and doughnuts, Jimmy Kimmel had a quarrel with Matt Damon on purpose and he sent tweets to Trump. There wasn't anything much in brief. Where are those musicals, skits we've seen before?

Justin Timberlake'in "Can't Stop The Feeling" performansıyla başlayan gece John Legend ve Auili'i Cravalho'nun performanslarıyla devam etti. Şarkı söylenen kısımlar da olmasa resmen eğlenemeyecektik törende.

The ceremony began with Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop The Feeling" performance and continued with John Legend and Auili'i Cravalho's performances. We wouldn't have been able to enjoy the ceremony if it hadn't been for these parts where they sang.

Fences filmiyle "En İyi Yardımcı Kadın" ödülünü alan Viola Davis hem meslektaşları hem de kendi gibi olan bütün kadınlar adına duygusal bir kabul konuşması yaptı. Sanatçı olduğu için çok memnun olduğunu çünkü bir hayat sürdürmenin ne demek olduğunu kutlayabilen tek meslek grubunun bu olduğunu dile getirdi.



Viola Davis who got an award for "Actress in a Supporting Role" gave an emotional acceptance speech on behalf of both her colleagues and women like herself. She said, "I became an artist, and thank God I did, because we are the only profession that celebrates what it means to live a life".

Ve gelelim ödül töreninin en can alıcı kısmına. "Bonnie and Clyde" filminin 50. yıl dönümünü kutlamak adına Faye Dunaway ve Warren Beatty'nin "En İyi Film" ödülünü sunması istendi. Beatty zarfı açıp uzun süre ona baktı. Seyirci heyecan yaratmak için bunu yaptığını düşünürken aslında Beatty kartı anlamaya çalışıyordu çünkü kartta Emma Stone'un adı yazıyordu. And here comes the epic part of the award ceremony. Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty were asked to present the winner of the "Best Picture" award to celebrate the 50th anniversary of "Bonnie and Clyde". Beatty opened the enveloped and looked at it for quite a while. The audience thought it was just to create suspense but in reality Beatty was trying to figure out the card in it because it said "Emma Stone". Dunaway, who wasn't aware of this, directly read the name under the card and announced "La La Land" as the winner and the whole crew got on the stage. They all read their acceptance speech and when they were about to go to their seats, a staff member came and told the situation. Then the producer of La La Land, Horowitz, showed the correct card and "Moonlight" was announced as the "Best Picture". This mistake, which has never been made in 88 years, will remain as the only detail that will make the 89th Academy Awards Ceremony unforgettable.
