And now here is my favourite part: Paris!

Ben uzun yıllardır, hatta spesifik olmam gerekirse 8 yaşımdan beri, Paris'e gitmek istiyordum. Ya maddi olarak buna durumum olmadı, ya o anki koşullar uygun olmadı ve ben hep bir şekilde ertelemek zorunda kaldım. Bu sefer şansım yaver gitti ve hiçbir sorun yaşamadan Paris'e gidebildim. Gezdiğim yerleri anlatırken biraz detaylı bilgi paylaşmak istiyorum çünkü bana belki de dili bilmediğimden bazı şeyler zor gelmişti. Sizin bunu yaşamanızı istemediğim için yardımcı olacağım :)

I've always wanted, since I was eight to be specific, to see Paris. I either wasn't financially ready or the circumstances didn't allow me and I somehow had to postpone it. This time I managed to go to Paris without any obstacles. I want to give details while talking about the places I visited because some things were not easy for me, maybe due to not knowing the language. I'll help you out so that you won't encounter them :)

Her seyahat noktamda kafamda beliren ilk soru toplu ulaşım oluyor. Acaba çok kullanmam gerekecek mi, yürüyerek ne kadar idare edebilirim, hangi ulaşım aracını daha çok tercih etmem gerekecek vb. gibi soruları kafamda oturtmak benim için çok önemli çünkü ona göre rota ile ilgili değişiklikler yapabiliyorum ya da saatli plan oluşturabiliyorum.

During each of my travels, the first thing that pops up in my head is the public transportation. Will I use it a lot? Can I manage it by walking only? Which type of public transportation will I have to use more? It is important for me to answer such questions before I set out because I either make changes on my route or create a time scheduled plan.

Paris'te ulaşım herkesin bildiği gibi çok geniş. Sürekli kullanacağım için de hesaplı bir çözüm üretmem lazımdı. Üstelik havaalanı ve Disneyland gibi uzak bölgelerde kalan yerlere de gideceğim için onun dahil olması gerekiyordu. Bu arada metro hattı hakkında bilginiz yoksa bölgelere göre bölünmüş durumda ve bunlara "zone" deniyor. İngiltere'de de aynı sistem mevcut. Bu durumla ilgili ne yapabileceğimi araştırırken Navigo Découverte kartını öğrendim. Bu kart bizim İETT akbilimiz gibi bir kart. Kart ücreti 5 euro ve metrolardan, havaalanlarından vs. temin edebiliyorsunuz. Haftalık sınırsız basım için 22,80 euro gibi bir şey ödemiştim ben. Bu arada haftalık kartı en geç perşembe gününe kadar almış olmanız gerekiyor. Cuma ve sonrasına bırakırsanız haftalık kart alamıyorsunuz. Bu arada yanınızda vesikalık bir fotoğrafınızla gidin. Kartın üzerine fotoğrafınızı yapıştırmanız gerekiyor. Genelde 1-3 zone'ları üzerinde gezecekseniz ona göre bir kart bakmalısınız ya da çok sık binmeyecekseniz 10'lu biletleri var. Tamamen seyahat planınıza göre en uygunu neyse ona bakın derim. Ulaşımı halledince gerçekten çok da bir şeye para harcamıyorsunuz o zaman.

Paris as everyone knows has a big transportation network. Since I was supposed to use it a lot, I had to come up with an affordable plan. I was also supposed to go to further places such as airport, Disneyland, etc. so they had to be included in the ticket as well. If you have no idea about the underground, it is divided into zones. The UK also shares the similar network. While searching for what to do, I saw a card called Navigo Découverte. This card is similar to our IETT card. The price for the card is 5 euros and you can get it from the airports, underground, etc. You can pay for a weekly unlimited option which costs around 22,50 euros. By the way, you have to do it until Thursday otherwise they won't allow you. Also don't forget to bring a photo with you because you'll have to glue it on the card. If you'll only see the places on zone 1-3, you may have to get something else. It might be more useful and cheaper for you. There are tickets sold in 10. Just find out what the best option is for you. When you're done with the transportation part, there is almost nothing left to pay for.

Disneyland demişken bu gönderimde ondan bahsetmeyeceğim maalesef. Onun daha detaylı bir şekilde ve daha bol görselle anlatılması gerektiğini düşündüğüm için bu gönderiye onu yedirmek istemedim. Speaking of Disneyland, I won't talk about it in this post. I want to talk about it with more visuals and details therefore I'll spare a long post for it. I have a plan on explaining how to get there, how you should wander around, what is there, what you can do, etc. I hope I can manage to write down what is on my mind exactly :)

Ben Amsterdam'dan Paris'e Ouibus ile geçtim. En ucuz hali oydu. Otobüs yolculuğu tabii ki bir uçak kadar konforlu değil ancak özellikle birkaç ülke gezeceğiniz zaman en ucuz seçenek neyse onu tercih edip konforu en son düşünüyorsunuz :) Yarı uyur yarı uyanık halde sabaha karşı 6 civarı Paris'e vardım. Nouvel Hotel Eiffel'de konakladım. Hotels sitesi üzerinden çok cazip bir fiyattan aldım, siz de buradan bakabilirsiniz. Sèvres—Lecourbe durağına çok yakın konumda. Eiffel'e 3 durak falan uzaklıkta. Yeşil hat üzerinde kalıyor, 6. hat olarak geçiyor bu. İlk gün gördüğüm yerler: Notre Dame Katedrali, Pantheon, Sorbonne, Laduree (makaronlardan tanıyorsunuz), Arc de Triomphe, Jardin des Tuileres (harika bir park), Amorino (muazzam bir dondurmacı). İkinci gün cuma günüydü ve cuma gününü tamamen Disneyland'e ayırdım. Dediğim gibi onu bir sonraki yazımda paylaşacağım o yüzden şimdi es geçiyorum :) Cumartesi gününü Eiffel'e ve Louvre müzesine ayırdım. Eğer Eiffel'de asansörle en üst kata kadar çıkmak istiyorsanız 25 euro veriyorsunuz. Sadece ikinci kata çıkabilir ya da merdiven tercih edebilirsiniz. Bu durumda ücret de düşecektir. Ayrıca online alırsanız normal sırayı atlatabilirsiniz. Şansıma hiç öyle bir sıra beklemedim. Rahat bir şekilde Eiffel'e çıktım :) Sonrasında fotoğraf çekilmek için karşısındaki parka yürüdüm. Aklınızda olsun, Eiffel ile fotoğraf en güzel oradan çıkıyor. Sonrasında Louvre müzesine gittim. Gerçekten muhteşem bir yer. Muazzam genişlikte ve harika eserler barındırıyor. Özellikle canım Beyoncé'nin Apeshit klibinden sonra burasını daha da merak etmiştim. Gez gez bitmeyen bu müzede en son Mona Lisa'ya uğradım ve çıktım çünkü artık vaktim kalmamıştı. Başka yerlere de gitmeliydim. Bu arada normalde Mona Lisa önünde de aşırı kuyruk oluyormuş ancak bana yine denk gelmedi, Şanslı olduğumu söylemiş miydim? :) Sonrasında Lüksemburg Bahçesi, Opera Garnier, Moulin Rouge, Sacré-Cœur Bazilikası diğer gördüğüm yerler oldu. Son günü, yani pazarı biraz rahat gezmeye ayırdım. Arkadaşımla tesadüfen orada karşılaştık. Çok iyi bildiği bir falafelci varmış, orada falafel yedik ve tadı hala damağımda. Denemek isterseniz adı Pitzman.

I used Ouibus to go to Paris from Amsterdam. It was the cheapest option. Of course travelling by a bus is not as comfortable as travelling by plane but when you have to go to more than one country, then you want to pay as little as you can :) In a half awake half asleep state, I arrived to Paris at about 6 a.m. I stayed at Nouvel Hotel Eiffel. I booked it online through Hotels website at a reasonably price, you can check it our by yourself here. It is very close to Sèvres—Lecourbe station. It's only 3 stops away from The Eiffel. It's on the green line called the 6th line. The first day I went to Notre Dame Cathedral, Pantheon, Sorbonne, Laduree (you know it for its macarons), Arc de Triomphe, Jardin des Tuileres (an amazing park), Amorino (a great ice-cream shop). The next day was Friday and I spared the whole day to Disneyland. As I said, I'll talk about it in the next post, so I'll pass now :) I went to Eiffel and Louvre on Saturday. If you want to get to the 3rd floor with a lift, you pay 25 euros. You can only go up to the 2nd floor or you can choose stairs. Then the prices will decrease. Also if you buy your tickets online, you can pass the queue. However, I was lucky and there was no queue whatsoever :) I easily went up to the top floor. Then I walked to the park in front of the Eiffel so that I could get a better picture next to it. Later I went to the Louvre museum. It is really breath-taking. It is quite vast and has amazing works of art. Especially after my lovely diva Beyoncé's song Apeshit, I was quite excited to see this place. Lastly, I went to see Mona Lisa and again I managed to pass the queue thanks to my luck :) Then I headed to Luxembourg Gardens, Opera Garnier, Moulin Rouge, Sacré-Cœur. The last day, which was Sunday, I wandered around freely. By chance, I saw a friend of mine. She knew a place where they served falafel and it was wonderful. If you love falafel, you should definitely stop by Pitzman.

Dönerken CDG Terminal 2'ye gidecektim. Bindiğim RER hattı da oldukça uzun bir hat. Saatlerce sürecek derken bir anons geldi: "Sayın yolcularımız, bu tren hiçbir durakta durmayacak ve direkt olarak havaalanına gidecektir". Gördüğünüz gibi birazcık şanslıyım :) Havaalanından makaron aldım bozulmaması adına. Schengen dışına çıkacağım için daha ucuza aldım aklınızda olsun. Şehir içinden daha uygun fiyata alabiliyorsunuz.

While going back home, I had to go to CDG Terminal 2. The RER train I was supposed to take had a long line. I was thinking to myself that it was going to take hours but then I heard an announcement: "Dear passengers, this train will not stop at the stations and will directly go to the CDG Terminals". As you can already tell, I'm a bit lucky :) I also bought macarons so that they won't go off and it was cheaper than the ones in the city centre. They told me that it was because I was leaving the Schengen zone and they were tax free for me. 

Deneyim olarak Paris bana çok şey kattı. Çok eğlendim, çok sevdim ve özellikle Disneyland hayalimi gerçekleştirdiğim için aşırı mutlu oldum. Hep söylediğim gibi umarım hepiniz bir gün gezmek istediğiniz yerleri gezebilirsiniz.

Paris was a different experience for me. I had fun, I loved it, especially realising the dream of Disneyland was like a cherry on top. As I always say, I hope you all one day manage to see the places you want to.

And we continue from where we left off!

Kopenhag'a gelen herkes mutlaka İsveç'te Malmö'ye de gidiyorlar, sen de gitmelisin diyen bir arkadaşımın tavsiyesiyle öyle yaptım. Günübirlik güzel bir değişiklik oldu benim için. Zaten Malmö eskiden Danimarka'ya bağlıymış. O yüzden aslında çok yakın. Trenle oldukça kısa sürede Malmö'ye geçtik. Gidiş geliş toplam olarak 20 euro'ya yakın bir miktar tutmuştu.

People who come to Copenhagen, usually visit Sweden-Malmö as well and my friend suggested this, so I did. It was a great daily trip for me. Malmö used to belong to Denmark, so it is really  close. We went to Malmö by train shortly. The return ticket cost around 20 euros.

Malmö için gerçekten bir gün yeterli. Hatta eğer kale, park vs. içine girip gezmeyecekseniz yarım gün de yeterli olacaktır. Gezdiğim yerler: Gustav Adolfs Meydanı, Stortorget, Radhaus, Malmöhus Slott, Sankt Petri Kyrka, Möllevangstorget ve Turning Torso. Hepsi de dediğim gibi yarım güne sığan yerler, o yüzden rahatça gezebilirsiniz :)

Spending only a day in Malmö is enough and if you don't plan on entering the casle or visiting the parks, half day is more than enough. The places I've been to: Gustav Adolfs Square, Stortorget, Radhaus, Malmöhus Slott, Sankt Petri Kyrka, Möllevangstorget and Turning Torso. As I said, you can visit them all in half day, so no worries :)

Şehir çok sessiz, sakin. Yaş ortalaması olarak da daha çok yaşlı insanlar gördüm. Sanırım biraz kafa dinlemelik bir yer. O açıdan beni çok sarmadı diyebilirim. Küçük şirin kafelerin olduğu meydanlar daha çok ilgimi çekti. Bir de Kopenhag'a kıyasla daha ucuz buldum. Sanırım bunun sebebi dediğim gibi küçük bir yer olması. Küçük olmasına rağmen biraz yorulabilirsiniz sizi uyarayım çünkü yollar girintili çıkıntılı. Arnavut kaldırımı tabirinin birebir karşılığı burada. Özellikle valizle ya da ağır çantayla gezecekseniz daha da yorulmak garanti. Turning Torso çok uzakta kalıyor mesela. Ona yürürken de biraz acı çekebilirsiniz :)

The city is quiet and calm. The people are mostly elders. I think this city is more of a place to retreat. It didn't attract me. I was mostly interested in pretty little cafes around. I also found it cheaper as opposed to Copenhagen. I believe this is because it's a small place. Even though it is not big, you might get tired while wandering around because the roads are bumpy. It has cobblestone pavements. If you have especially luggage or if you are travelling with a heavy equipment, you'll surely become exhausted. Turning Torso, for instance, is a bit far. You might feel the pain while walking towards it :)

Otobüs kullanarak da gezebilirsiniz ancak otobüs içinde ödeme yapamıyorsunuz. Otobüse binmeden otobüs bileti almanız gerekiyor. Ben trenle geldiğim için zaten direkt olarak merkez istasyona gelmiştim. Orada bilet alma yerleri vardı ancak şehir merkezinde alınacak yer pek göremedim. Otobüse binme niyetiniz varsa bilet alma yeri görür görmez atlayın ve sonraya bırakmayın. Bulamayabilirsiniz.

You can wander around by bus but you can't pay inside. You have to get a ticket before you get on. Since I arrived by train, I arrived to the central station where you can easily get tickets. However, I didn't see any place that you can get the tickets in the city centre. Therefore, if you intend to use the bus, make sure you buy the tickets beforehand. You might not find them.

Hello my dear concert fans!

BKM Online organizasyonu (https://www.bkmonline.net/tr/etkinlikler/imagine-dragons) ve İstanbul Blue Night iş birliği ile Küçükçiftlik Park'ta Imagine Dragons konser verdi geçtiğimiz pazar günü. Az çok bu alanda deneyimli olduğum için gelen kişi sayısının fazla olacağını hesap etmiştim önceden. Dolayısıyla en önde olmak istiyorsam azıcık erken gitmem gerekecekti ve öyle yaptım. Tam 3 saat önceden sıraya girdim. Güneş altında beklemek azıcık yorucu olsa da her şeye gün sonunda değdi.

As part of BKM Online's organization (https://www.bkmonline.net/tr/etkinlikler/imagine-dragons) and collaboration of Istanbul Blue Night, Imagine Dragons was here to throw a concert on previous Sunday. Since I have a little bit of experience in the entertainment industry, I could foresee the amount of people who would come. Therefore, I knew I had to be in the queue early if I wanted to be at the front row and I did. I was in the queue 3 hours before the doors were open.

Ön gruplar çıkmadan önce DJ çıkması gerekiyordu ancak çıkmadı. Bu arada tahminimce kişi sayısından fazlaca bilet satıldı çünkü saniyesinde tıklım tıklım oldu. Sıcakla beraber bu da birleşince dayanması zor bir hal aldı konser. Ne su ihtiyacı için ne de başka şeyler için yerinizden çıkmanız imkansızdı. Bu şekilde beklemek de oldukça yordu tabii. Derken Oceans of Noise sahne aldı. Çoğu insan bu gruptan habersiz ancak solisti Sertab Erener. Değişik bir ekip olmuşlar, şans tanıyın derim. Sonrasında İngiliz grup The Vaccines sahne aldı. Buraya ilk gelişleriydi onların da. Aşırı tatlılardı. Hem tarzları hem de şarkıları eğlendirdi. Bu arada sahne değişimlerinde o kadar beklemedik. Bu da her şeyi biraz daha kolaylaştırdı. Sonrasında evren sesimi duymuş olacak ki ön sıraya su dağıtımı yaptı görevliler. Suyu içtikten sonra kendime gelirim sanıyordum ki sahneye Dan'in yani Imagine Dragons'ın gelmesiyle tekrar kendimden geçtim!

A DJ was supposed to come out but he did not. Besides, I believe more tickets were should than they should have been because as soon as the doors were open, it was jammed with people in seconds. The hot weather was also not helping. It was impossible to leave your place to get a bottle of water or go to the toilets. It was tiring to wait like that. Oceans of Noise was the first band to perform. A lot of people are unaware of them but the lead singer is Sertab Erener. Give them a chance if you haven't listened to them before. Then an English band The Vaccines took their turn. It was their first time here.

Sahneye sadece şort ile çıkan Dan işleri çok zorlaştırmıştı çünkü ona bakmaktan şarkılara odaklanamıyordum hahaha :) Hepimiz için aynı şey geçerliydi. Gerçekten içi de dışı da mükemmel birisiymiş yakından gördük :) Manevi yönü baskın olan bir insan diye tahmin ediyorum çünkü vücut dilini hep o yönde kullandı ve Demons şarkısını söylerken arada kısa bir konuşma yaptı. Günümüzde depresyon, panik atak ve anksiyete gibi özellikle gençleri çok etkileyen bazı sorunların çözülebilir olduğunu, kendisinin de vakti zamanında depresyondan geçtiğini ve klinik destek aldığını, aileden ya da arkadaşlardan birine bile bundan bahsetmenin iyi geleceğini ve en nihayetinde asla intihar edilmemesi gerektiğini anlattı. Sanki bunları anlatırken tekrar tekrar o geçirdiği dönemleri hatırlar gibiydi. Dinlerken çok etkilendim.

Dan came out to the stage with shorts which made it even harder to concentrate hahah :) It was valid for everyone. He was an amazing human being inside and outside. He gave a speech while singing Demons and he talked about depression, panic attack and anxiety. He told us that there is nothing that can't be solved, he himself also went through depression, had a clinical support and it does feel good to tell this to friends. He said that no one should ever commit a suicide. It was as if he was going through what he has already been through again. I was quite affected by what he was talking about.

Seyirciyle teması da fazlaydı Dan'in. Elimizi tutması, defalarca göz kontağı kurması, hem Türk bayrağı hem de LGBTİ+ bayrağı taşıması, ilk defa buraya gelmesine rağmen çok sevdiğini ve hep gelmek isteyeceğini belirtmesi kesinlikle hepimizden artı puan kazandırdı. Sesi ve performansına zaten yorum yapmıyorum, müthişti. Gelmeyenler çok şey kaçırdı diyebilirim. Tüm yorgunluğumu unuttum. Ayrıca normal ayakta kategorisine de yakın olmak için oraya bir platform kurdurmuş ve yaklaşık 3-4 şarkı da o platformda söyledi. Dolayısıyla herkese yakın, herkesle iletişimde olduğu iki saat yaşattı bizlere.

Dan made lots of contacts with the audience. He held hands, looked right in the eyes, carried the Turkish flag and the LGBTI+ flag, he mentioned that the loved being here although it was his first time. I cannot even comment on his voice and performance, he was literally amazing. Those of you who failed to make it, surely missed a lot. I forgot all about my tired feet. They also had a platform next to the standing area where he also managed to be close to that part of the audience as well. He sang 3-4 songs on that platform. Thus, he was in contact with all of us for 2 hours.

Imagine Dragons zaten ekip olarak çok başarılı benim gözümde. Özellikle son şarkıları Natural'ı çok seviyorum. Whatever It Takes, Radioactive, Believer, Shots, Yesterday, I Bet My Life, Thunder, I Don't Know Why en sevdiğim şarkıları. Eğer daha önce dinlemediyseniz bu şarkılara ve özellikle de gruba şans tanıyın.

Imagine Dragons is quite successful. I especially adore their latest song Natural. Whatever It Takes, Radioactive, Believer, Shots, Yesterday, I Bet My Life, Thunder, It's Time, I Don't Know Why are my favourite songs. If you haven't listened to them before, you should definitely give them a shot.

Bu arada The Vaccines canlı olarak konserde dinlediğim 100. grup oldu, Imagine Dragons da 101 :) Konserde canlı dinlediğim sanatçı/grup listemde 100'ü geçmiş bulunduğum için ayrıca gururluyum!

By the way, The Vaccines is the 100th band that I listened to live, and Imagine Dragons is the 101st :) I'm also proud that the list of performances I watched live has more than 100 bands/singers!

Hepinize kocaman bir seyahatten güzel anılar getirdim. Hazır mısınız? :)

I brought lots of beautiful memories from a long trip to you all. Are you ready? :)

Yaklaşık 7 gün sürecek bir seyahat planlamıştım. Beyaz yakalı çalışan olunca her tatili büyük küçük demeden değerlendirme ihtiyacı içine giriyorsunuz. Ben de 7 günlük tatili buna göre programladım. 20 Ağustos'ta başlayıp 26 Ağustos sabahı işimin başına dönecektim, hem de sabah 3 uçağıyla indikten sonra! Seyahat aşığı olmak bunu gerektirir :)

I planned a 7 days long trip. When you're a white-collar worker, you try to make use of every long or short holiday. I planned my trip accordingly. I was supposed to begin my trip on the 20th of August and get back to work on the morning of 26th of August, with a 3 a.m. flight! That's what I call dedication!

İlk durağım Kopenhag'tı. Daha önce buraya hiç gitmemiştim. O yüzden nereleri gezmek gerekiyor bilmiyordum ama belli başlı yerleri gezdim. Size de oraları önereceğim. Renkli evleri ile Nyhavn çok güzel. Özellikle Instagram paylaşımlarınız için biçilmiş kaftan. Amalienborg Sarayı da çok güzeldi. Gittiğim zaman nöbet değişimine denk gelmiştim. Onu izlemek de keyifliydi. Tivoli bahçelerini de gezmeyi öneriyorlar ama giriş paralı. Kurlar malumunuz başını alıp gittiği için siz de buraya dışarıdan bakıp geçebilirsiniz benim gibi :) Danimarka kronu gerçekten ceplerimizi yakıyor. Burası aynı zamanda Hans Christian Andersen'in yeri. Masallarını okuyarak büyüdük hepimiz. O yüzden geldiğinizde Küçük Deniz Kızı'nın heykelini de ziyaret etmenizi öneririm.

My first stop was Copenhagen. I'd never been there before. Thus I didn't know where to go, so I visited the places that people mostly suggested. I'll recommend you the same. Nyhavn is beautiful with its colourful buildings. It's especially good for your Instagram posts. Amalienborg Palace was also beautiful. I also encountered change of guards by chance. That was an enjoyable moment. People will say that you should visit Tivoli gardens but there is an entrance fee. As you all know, the currencies are up, so you might have to see it from the outside just like me :) Danish krone costs a bomb. This place is also the home of Hans Christian Andersen. We all grew up to reading his fairytales. Therefore I suggest you visit Statue of the Little Mermaid.

Ulaşım da çok rahat. Sadece yönleri karıştırmamak adına dikkatli bakmanız lazım. Havaalanından trenle şehir merkezine ulaşabiliyorsunuz. Copenhagen Card alırsanız müzelere girişi de uygun fiyata getirebilirsiniz. Ben her yere yürüdüm, ancak ertesi gün İsveç'e geçeceğim için 24 saat geçerli olan bir bilet aldım havaalanından. Transportation is quite easy. You just have to make sure that you're headed in the right direction. You can get to the city centre by train. If you buy Copenhagen Card, you might enter the museums cheaper than they are. I walked everywhere, but I was supposed to go to Sweden the next day, so I bought a 24-hours ticket from the airport. You can use everything from buses to trains with that card and it is valid for all zones. This costs 150 DKK, meaning 20 euros.

The most appropriate time to come around is the summer. If you don't go to Copenhagen in either june, july or august, you might face a deadly cold. Even if I went there in august, I could not wander around without a jacket. If you don't like getting cold like me, I suggest you take this into consideration :)
